It does matter, quite a bit. A taller person should and will have a much higher calorie requirement just to exist than someone who is 10 centimeters shorter. The larger/longer the muscle, the more calories they need to be maintained. This is the same reason why you see shorter guys especially build muscle and bulk up much faster than their friends of taller size. Their muscles are literally shorter, pound-per-pound they will require less calories to function and grow.

Small guys do not bulk up faster if the taller person eats right as well. Smaller guys just look bulked up faster since they need to grow less muscle in order to look big ;)
