RE: ✴️ ABUSE ON STEEMIT... WHAT CAN WE DO? SPAM, VOTING ABUSE, REWARD POOL RAPE, DRAMA, AND FLAGS!

in #charlesfuchs7 years ago

Shit, I guess there is no corner of the earth that is untouched by the politics of envy.

Why are we even talking about how others are using the platform?

The platform is right here in front of us all - we can use it as we please, but if someone wants to use it their way, we collectively try to pull them down?

Why can't we try and learn from their success and emulate it? Rewards are linear - each of us is just as capable to do the same thing if we put in the same amount of effort.

I agree to a certain point, if you are right we all have the same possibilities because we all have the same tool in front of us and it works exactly the same for everyone.

but regardless of that if it is okay, what I think is being treated here is not exactly that issue but abuse, abuse is not here or anywhere in the world, an example of abuse is developed countries abusing Third World countries that do not have the same possibilities for many reasons (education, economy etc etc) but it would be very long to talk about it here.

the point is that if it is good that we all have a tool that we can squeeze to the maximum and be unlimited for all, but as in all that tool has to have some rules of use some rights and obligations to work the most perfect and as fair as possible for the majority, then what I see is not only the problem that some are abusing the system in a systematic way but the system itself is still failing because if a system does not have ways to abuse the nobody could abuse it .

I think the key here is that steemit has to improve a lot so that it is a practically indestructible system and where no type of cheating can be done.

if we want this to be a social network and a good platform that is useful and benefits everyone in the most just way possible, it would have to have rules and not only rules but a system that is capable of detecting abuse since it is not just about to earn money but to earn it ethically without stealing, we do not want a system that does not have utility and is just a money-making machine because then we end up becoming the corrupt banks that run the world and have no scruples about printing money and robbing people.

In summary:
strengthen the tool
that is useful
that detects abuses alone
that is fair for all
that is a way to earn money in the most ethical way possible to win in abundance all the parties involved and not a place where a few win while the rest only pick up some remains.

Like everything in life there should be a set of rules... guess you don’t know how steemit rewards work. Pretty soon, they won’t be any rewards at all to talk about.

There are rules, and just like in life, those who best use the rules to their advantage are the most successful.

There is no way for a top user, or group of top users to empty the rewards pool. It has been a linear rewards allocation since Hard Fork 19.

There is also no way to stop what you call "abuse". There will always be an incentive for a group of people to vote each other, or a single user having multiple accounts, or the combination of the two.

The biggest effect we can have on distributing the rewards pool away from those top "abusers" would be to encourage as many people as possible to buy as much Steem as they can afford, put out 10-15 posts per day, and self-vote.

Of course, that isn't the Steem we all want to see...

So, buy as much as you can afford, post a couple good posts, interact with your followers, build a following, and self vote...

It will always be possible to make money here if you do that.

But everyone complaining that they can't make money here "because of others who are abusing the system" are not only wrong about that, but they are also not helping anyone by complaining about it..

Never said it was going to stop it, but people to come up with some solutions. Currently two people are taking 10% of all the rewards pool everyday. If you make it harder for the abusers, thus reducing it.
