What up ya'll ... I'm going to be really blunt about this issue, why not? ... because I'm "Charles Fuchs" and sometimes the truth hurts but some people really need to hear it π€£
First off, Why should you even listen to me? Well, I've built a Social Media Following over 100k+ people. Documentation always beats conversation and usually people with influence wins at the end of the day π²
I've been reading tons of comments on Steemit throughout the weeks seeing people write "Why are people upvoting for trashy or boring content and their friends (Circle Jerk)... while I'm producing awesome content and most people don't give a F*ck"? π³π
You have to first remember what Steemit really is, it's still a Social Media Platform!
Why are Kardashian's so famous? They bring no value to the table what so ever but they have one of the biggest followings online and people like their stuff all the time, It can make you go hmmmm...
While most people are on Steemit scrolling through profile and enjoying their experience on here by commenting, voting and following... they tend to vote for people that brings no value at all. Why is that?
You see... people are looking to be entertained, make new friends, have some fun, connect with people etc etc... they are not really on Social Media to "Read" or "Learn" about new things.Β
However if you apply the "Social Media" aspect with great content and some value, you will win big time.
Here is another thing Steemians should be focusing on "Getting Attention"... not any attention, but the right kind.Β
How does a person do this? ... Start busting out tons of different kinds of content, give tremendous value, build relationships with everyone, do videos, take selfies, show people what your really about and especially show your audience your personality (Swag).Β
Become the most interesting person in the world. Ask yourself this... If you had your own reality show, would you watch yourself and tune in everyday? π πΉ
If the answer is no, why not? Are you boring? Are you bitching all the time? Are you lazy? Are you doing meaningless shit everyday? This will separate the men from the boys (or ladies π€£).
Pretend that you are on your own reality show with cameras following everywhere you go... You'll start doing more interesting things because you are aware that you have people to entertain. ππΌββοΈ
You see... "Getting Attention" and having interesting content goes hand and hand on Steemit. Without each other, Social Media will likely won't work out for you.Β
If you get attention but put out trashy and boring material, eventually most people won't ever come back. However, if you have interesting content but no attention, nobody will ever notice you.
You must learn to market yourself, once you do that... you will have the "Power" to talk or show everyone in the world what skills, talent, and personally that you might have.
Is it fair? ... probably not, but that is how the world works today.Β

I guess that is one of the most annoying things. This is a social media platform and people want to be entertained. They don't want to be bored by the lectures you make, however, you get people who say that people who have LQ posts bring no value to this platform.
You just need to find the right balance then you can hit the sweet spot. If you add the social media aspect like Charles does with his entertaining posts but they are also lengthy.

There are ways to build your follower base, and I mean build it with quality followers too, not just anyone. Resteeming quality content of the people who are furthering the same life long objectives as you is key.
Other than resteems, quality replies to other people's quality posts is the next best way to get increase your followers. The more quality followers you have, the better payouts you'll get too, right?

I am introducing the Liberty Professionals initiative to Steemit. Myself and others believe this is the perfect platform to launch it on. You are a Liberty Professional! There are many of us here. Unless we are mistaken, no initiative currently exists for it either.
The idea is simple enough, and it is entirely voluntary. We will use the tag until communities are created, and some people have started to use badges designed by @grow-pro. There are no bots, nothing to sign up for, and absolutely no tricks.
We will simply network together, build our followers with liberty lovers, and support other liberty lovers with resteems, upvotes, and assistance on and off Steemit as much as possible. Everyone involved will benefit greatly.
I've asked @firepower to make us a #libertyprofessionals channel on steemit.chat as well. Hopefully, this is something yourself and other liberty rock stars here will support. Please let me know what you think about the idea! I'm hoping to chat with @hilarski about the idea soon as well.

I run a facebook group and it can be time consuming but it connects lot of like minded people together and its worth it in the long run.
Lots of people are using discord and steem.chat ... those are great tools to connect.

I'm sure that FaceBook group is well worth the time investment! Our peers affect our success of course. I keep my closest friends creators and innovators to make sure they are lifting me up. Anyone who's in the fight is one. The original idea was not related to Steemit. I wanted to make a webpage that combined LinkedIn professional networking with Craigslist bartering, but it would be just for liberty-minded people. That way you work with and exchange goods and services with your friends. It is still a good idea, but there's no need for a separate webpage. We can do it all right here on Steemit!

I have to say I like your content. They way how you present it. Reading that post I had the feeling that you are familiar with dealing with many peopleββ in public. In my case, β as a professional football player isβ that way, that's why Iβ can totally understand what you wrote about. In my business it'sβ not every time the player with the most talent will getβ a βtransfer to a bigger club. No its the whole player, how do you play, what are your skills and what feelings you spread while watching you. Upvote for you.
I think they key word is "awareness" and some many call it emotional intelligence.... there are so many levels to it though. People always ask how do you develop these of type skills, well they have to do tons of self reflection and put themselves in tons of situations that challenges them, however one must learn from it also.
When I explain this to people, they get totally lost but that's very understandable... because they don't have it yet lol

That to me is value, if you entertain someone or make them aware of content that they previously didn't know about, that's value.
A lot of people mistake long intellectual posts for quality, whilst they may be well written, they bring no value because hardly anyone wants to read them.

This is really great advice @stacking! Thank you! I've definitely been trying to figure out ways of getting attention in the past several weeks, and I've been realizing more and more that the posts that do well are the ones that stay on the trending page for longer periods of time. The question is how do you get there? And how do you keep yourself there? And there are a variety of answers and ways of doing this, but the points you bring up here about entertaining your audience, and showing them who you are. And of course the fact that what they're looking for is not to read or learn, but to be entertained and have fun and connect with people, is so vital. These are really good points :)
I've also been wondering for quite some time now if anyone has come up with a good time for posting on steemit. I think this could be so crucial. They have times like this for other social media platforms, but, correct me if I'm wrong, I find that steemit is a bit different than other platforms, as it's a heavily international platform, and the times that are best to post country to country may vary. But I wonder if there are any common times that are most successful. Anyways, these are just things that have been on my mind in regards to this post. Thanks again for putting this valuable advice out there :D
You have to combined entertainment with info, it works great. It's like in real life also, it's who you know more than what you know.
It's tuff but if it was easy everyone would do it. Just like on facebook, there's billions of people on it, how do you get people attention? It's hard, but people who post engaging content and staying consistent always in.
I find it hard if a newbie jumps on YouTube right now and wants to be famous, so much competitions and almost impossible to do that now. On steemit, it's much easier as there's fewer people here.

Having the tone and style of a "rock star"... even if you aren't a rock star. I've got a lot to learn when it comes to applying this to my posts. I'm fine when writing comments, but it's seems difficult to write engaging posts.

Naaa, you're a rockstar... people just don't know it yet lol. The best way is to do lots of content and engage with the community. eventyally it gets easier and easier the more you do it. So far i only did about 80 posts, and I learned what works and what doesn't but im till learning :)

I think I'm gonna follow that guy." Lol, I don't know that I had even fully read anything of yours yet. Kind of embarassed to admit... But proves that presentation counts, is a skill, & you do a good job of it. That said, if I see that someone is just totally self involved and doesn't care about anyone but themselves, that is a huge turn off and it doesn't matter how good their name or pic is, selfishness is repulsive.

I really like this question. It's so true, we should live lives that are exciting to us. Doesn't mean you need to be doing insane things every day. Just means that you should be excited to wake up in the morning and tackle the day.

I was offered a reality show for my spa once, I had to politely decline as I know drama is triggered and that could be a double edged sword. Now if the wanted to document my everyday life then low and behold lol

I don't know how to market my posts to get attention am here to learn new things and meet new people. I don't ask why people vote for someone and don't vote for me that's not business am not here to see who got bigger earnings. am here to start my blogging journey I do read many books and researches so I think I have many things To share with the community but I'm struggling now to get attention and I found it too hard to get noticed in this crowded platform which the bad is mixed up with good .many people says that the more you comment on people stuff and engaged with the community eventually you'll build your audience, but what I saw is people prefer to vote and comment for the whales to get attention they the truth is every one want to get attention no matter what. here I saw many great articles also I saw shitty ones. I started just 2 1/2 months ago with 0 people... You have to keep doing it and be very consistent, be really involved in the community. Don't look at it like a money thing. Its social media, the money on top is extra :)
