Steemit versus Golos - The Chess Match - A Cross Platform Showcase. Move #4

in #chess8 years ago (edited)

Welcome to our cross platform chess match in which we explore and showcase the ability of the Steemit platform to transcend its own boundaries by playing a game of chess with the Russian speaking world via the Golos platform.

Here's the current position:

Queen's Pawn game.

White has opted for a nice flexible system here. Depending on black's reply, white can still dictate the pace and structure of the game.

Mission

This will be a 'one off' game between Golos and Steemit. The main benefit is that if hundreds of people can use Steemit to interact with something outside of Steemit, more of the world will see what this technology is capable of.

You can play for fun, for pride or for money.

Rules

No computer analysis

No bots

I am the final judge in all matters.

I promise to act with complete honesty

In the last game I noted some dummy accounts and multiple accounts held by the same owner were used to manipulate the vote. I will not allow this. Also, votes from non active users may be ignored at my discretion.

It's your move Steemit!

It's fine to vote on your own comment. I always count one vote for the person who moved anyway. However it would be useful if you could edit the text out of your above comment for clarity when voting. Thanks!

I like this move because they developed and supported their pawn and then you respond by developing/attacking. It makes them on their next move consider defending. White already has the advantage by moving first so you might as well be the first to attack.

well I guess they are already defending but still a good development and you can always use the bishop later to try and freeze the knight due to the queen. That center pawn becomes weaker

it is a competition

It is indeed. Are you going to participate?

yes. I've read about Golos, which is shaped in the Russian language.
but almost all such steemit.

Cool! Let's see how this plays out.

Steem on,
Frank

Thanks Frank. Feel free to write a move or vote for others!

You're using Chessmaster Interface, yes? I recognize that board layout from using Chessmaster many many years ago.

Seeing that board brings back memories of learning chess through Chessmaster's beginners and advanced courses with Josh Waitzkin. That had to be at least a decade ago. Sadly, I'm fairly certain that my chess was stronger back then.

It's a good concept, anyways I'm waaay behind on your posts and am missing out on learning Russian too :) so I won't take out more of your time :),

Good luck hope you learn from Steemit and do better with the voice. :)

HAHAHA nice post, now Steemit and Golos can learn together :_) Great idea

How does it work, this game will take months to finish, kind of reminds of Blade Runner :D
