Open Church: Introduce yourself and share your faith journey - all are welcome

Greetings fellow Steemians.

Welcome to Week 5 of Open Church

Open Church is an initiative by @majes, @nextgen622 and the Christian trail community on Steemit. It aims to be a place where Christians on Steemit can hang out, encourage and build up one another, and reflect the love of Christ. The church is not a building, but is made up of people who have been transformed by God's grace.

Steemit is not all about money, but it's also a community of real people with real needs. So let us be a community of brothers and sisters that can Truly support one another with our real lives. Hope we can put aside the money element of Steemit and enter into authentic fellowship with one another.

Each week we will be putting up a new post with a new topic or theme for discussion. But feel free to come here just to fellowship and be a blessing to one another. Whatever denominational background your from, or if you're just curious about the Christian faith, everyone is welcome.

So feel free to share a link to your favourite worship song, share a word of encouragement, a prayer request, or introduce yourself. But please do not promote any posts here, or get into any arguments here.

Today's theme is please introduce yourself and share about your faith journey

In order to build a supportive Christian community on Steemit, let's try to get to know one another more. Feel free to share as much or as little as you like. And you can join us for some more fellowship in the Christian-chat channel on Steemit chat.

Be Blessed.

Welcome to steemit

Welcome to family :)

I asked Christ into my life in November 2014 and over only a few years His grace and majesty broke such strong chains that I was incapable to break and some I hadn't seen as chains. God has restarted my life and made me into a completely new person. Although my pride and fears have made this transition more difficult on me I truly desire to devote my whole life to Him. I am certain that He longs and is working to dissolve my pains. He has planted a good seed in me and I will walk along side of Him.

Thank you for your testimony @minera. Praise God that He broke the chains... that was prophesied about Him before he even laid down His life for us.
Isiah 61:1 “The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me,
Because the Lord has anointed Me
To preach good tidings to the poor;
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives,
And the opening of the prison to those who are bound;
2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord,
And the day of vengeance of our God;
To comfort all who mourn"

Looks like I missed this post. My name is Markus. I'm 30 years old from Australia. You can read about my faith journey HERE. Upvoted and RESTEEMED...

Since I started following you, almost as soon as came onto steemit, I saw that you frequently put links in about your testimony. I am so glad I now went and read it, what a wonderful testimony. How powerful God is to make you immediately fall in love with Jesus Christ against everything you were learned to believe. This is such a message of hope, no one is beyond saving by our Lord and Master Jesus Christ.

Great initiative! Look forward to fellowshiping with other Christian member of steemit. God bless. Upvoted and resteemed.

Thanks @majes, @nextgen622 and the Christian trail community to initiative open church.I am happy to know that this open church made up of people who have been transformed by God's grace.I am a Roman Catholic Christian from Birth and I believe in Jesus.I have a small family having two children.I am not a rich,I have no job,But I manage my family happy with the grace of God.As a Good Christian,Everyday early morning I go to church and attend the mass with my daily's prayer "God please mercy me and give sufficient money to me so that I will fulfill my families needs". I know one day God will give me.I strongly believe in my God. Thank you for sharing and creating this Christian community.
Let's make our christian community very strong and spread the Holy word's of Jesus Christ in everyone. with thanksgiving in Jesus name @amimohan

@amimohan thank you for sharing your story and life. I will pray with you for a job and that God will supply your needs. Just keep your eyes on Jesus and He will calm the storm!

Now I have reached the end of the comments and it is my time to share. I was so fortunate to grow up in a Christian home and at the tender age of 12 on a church youth camp, I gave my heart to Jesus. I am so thankful to the Lord for being able to do it at such young age and that He has been on this path with me for so long. Right through my Christian walk I experienced times of being very near to the Lord and at times very far but praise His wonderful Name as He always draw you near again. I stand on His promise in Phillippians 1: 6 "being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ;" I thank God for this community.

Amen. Thanks @hope777 for sharing your story, and for your contributions to the Christian-trail family here. Thanks for taking the time to comment on all the posts.

The pleasure is all mine. God bless!

I have always identified as a Christian, but will admit that I didn't fully know what this meant until about 1 year ago.

This is when my wife and I started going to a different church and it all started to click. I felt the presence of God for the first time and accepted Jesus in my heart.

Prior to that, I think that I was just going through the motions but wasn't fully engaged and truly believing.

I can see now that certain people and events have lead me to this point, including my wife and daughter. God has blessed me so much throughout my life and I can't wait to see what else He has planned!

Praise Him tnx for sharing..

Thank you for sharing. Your testimony is the echo of lots of others, being in the church but did not truly know God. I am so glad you find him!

My faith journey has been rough; but I wouldn't give up the journey for all the world!

No matter how rough it is. God is so faithful, He just keeps on drawing us near.

Hi...my family wasnt religious at all when I was growing up ...I remember one time I went to church ..I was about 9 years old with a neighbor family ...we sat in the back I sang so loud...lol at the end of the service the head of the choir came to me and asked me to join ...I wanted to so badly but when I went home and told my mom ...I wasn't allowed to go to church again...fast forward to my twenties...I attended a couple churches randomly ...I always felt a strong pull...I sometimes just burst into tears not knowing why ...well a couple years ago in 2014...I was going through an awful divorce married 21 years to an abusive man...living with my sister...which wasn't a positive place for me either she had alot of drugs alcohol and traffic...and one day my mom came over with a flyer in the mail about a series of seminars on the end of days and she wanted me to go with her...I was shocked ...I didn't know what to say ....I thought it must be the end if my mom is going to church...lol well we started going 3 days a week for about three months....we loved the pastor he spoke in a way that it was so clear to us I would leave and tell everybody what I had learned about 100× I was so excited even my sister started going ....a year later my mom ..sister and my myself were baptized in our church...we are Seventh Day Adventists....I still have lots to learn I attended a year of Bible marking classes and studies...went to my first womens retreat in Utah last year ...what an experience. ..we have 5 pastors ...but Pastor Boles is my family now ...and this is my story :) :) Kayleigh

Wow praise God for his grace leading you to himself. Thanks for sharing. God bless you sister.

I'm so grateful everyday ...I will never stop needing him in my life ....I will never stop learning or sharing his word ..thank you and God Bless :) :)

Wonderful testimony Kayleigh. I am so glad that you found Jesus Christ!

Thank You @hope777 so am I ...if you knew some of my history...you would definitely understand the depth of how much I do :) :)

A short version, grew up as a Jehovah's Witness than in my early 20's joined another group that had similar beliefs including that they thought they were God's only true church on earth. . cut to some 12 years later finding no fulfillment in my life and constantly feeling miserable asked the Lord why I was like this I had repented of my sins and accepted Him as Savior and at that moment while walking to work from the subway waves of intense Love swept over me and I than knew Him personally, something that was never the case previously having just had head knowledge that had learned from those 2 groups.. needless to say have never been the same, He has remained close to me the last 20 years and I just can't live without Him...

I am so glad you shared this @wilx because I lots of times feel so bad for those people who work so hard for whatever kingdom. I praise God for reaching you with His unending love!

Thanks for sharing brother. I too remember the first time when I experience the presence of God and having that personal connection with Jesus. Nothing in the whole world compares to the peace, joy and love experienced in the tangible presence of God.

Amen to that nextgen622

OK here's a bit about me. My name is Jimmy. I was born in China and migrated to Australia with my mum at the age of 7. The main reason my mum wanted to bring me to Australia was because at the age of 6 I was diagnosed with a genetic deteriorating eye condition. So my mum thought I would have many more opportunities to have a future in Australia. Growing up with a vision impairment was difficult, but it has made me the person I am today, so I'm thankful. Having a vision impairment means that I can't actually read stuff on Steemit, but rather I use a screen reader to listen to text, and help me navigate and read posts.

I came to faith in Jesus half way through university when my best friend heard the Gospel and invited me to church. There I experienced love which I had longed for all my life, and more importantly there I experienced the presence of God, and started my journey coming into relationship with Jesus. After accepting Jesus into my life, Jesus has radically transformed me in so many ways. I'm a completely different person, and my life is now full of joy, peace and purpose. I am currently also studying a masters degree in Christian ministry.

How my wife and I came together was a miracle, through God speaking to her and moving her heart, but that's another story. We now have two beautiful children who I adore. :)

What touched me about this is that God led you to a church that would fulfill the one thing you longed for. How God works with every person individually is just wonderful. I praise God for this church fulfilling their mission in sharing the love of God to you! Good luck with your studies, may you be blessed in it.

Praise God Jimmy tnx for sharing your story God is so good isn't he..not being able to read is something will pray for you all in His perfect time and plan..

Amen God is so good. Thanks brother.

Transformation by God's grace is indeed necessary to build a healthy church and Christians must remember that the humans are the church and not the walls.

Thank you @gee-world for reminding us.

Thank you for sharing and creating this Christian community. I love what you are doing. Yes, you are right, Church is not a building, it is people. I have been a christian for over 3 years now and I love learning about Christ and God's plan for us. Be blessed!!

I praise God for every single person that found Him through His Son Jesus Christ! Welcome to the community. I love it too. :-)

Welcome. Glad to have you here. Thank you for sharing. Bless you.

My faith journey began on June 8, 1978 when I was given my first Bible just before turning eight. After starting in the book of Isaiah, and reading up through Matthew's gospel, I put it away because I didn't get the point that God was intending to communicate by having it written. Sure, I could have asked a variety of people, and all their answers could have been correct, but since they didn't write it, their answers wouldn't have had the same effect. Then, in 1992, the circumstances of life showed me that I didn't have the truth, and that I needed to know it. That prompted me to read the entire Bible. I continued to do that until October 25, 2012 when my faith journey was consummated into the reality of who I am in relationship to who God is.

It took you a long time to come into the right relationship with God but what is so encouraging is that God doesn't give up on us. He just keeps on working in our lives, His Spirit keeps on speaking into our hearts. How wonderful and faithful is He, praise His Name!

What took so long revolved around the process of unlearning all the things about life, and God that simply are not true.

Thanks for sharing brother.

This is a lovely idea. I'm not the conventional Christian so won't post but the idea that there are communities pumping prayer and good vibes here is very nice :)

Welcome @healingherb. :) Glad you could drop by. You're very welcome here, and feel free to share and hang out.

Thanks, I will :)

Hi Christian-trail ;) Nice to see more people like you - here joining steemit!! Becoming a steamian is a great adventure!! Here you can win money while bloging! At the beginning it wouldn't be easy, but it isn't impossible. So just write from your heart and everything will be allright. Wish you much luck! Cheers! Greetings, @mekong !

@christian-trail looking forward to being apart of this developing! are you looking for people to join the steemit chat channel or comment below?

Welcome. You can do either or both. :)

Steemit initiative of the year @Christian-trail ! You have my support, upvote, and resteem - thank you and may God bless.

Jesus is soooooooooooooooooooooo good.
We are a group and we acknowledge Jesus Christ' Lordship
We resteem contents in which the pure and only Gospel is revealed. I didn't know this community, but now I know. I want to invite ysome of you to take a look to the blog of @pastorlea.
I don't know if we work together but it's always good to spread the pure gospel and acknowledge in one another the gift of Christ. There's some serious content in that blog and it's challenging to see that we misunderstood some concepts of the person and work of Christ Jesus. So far, I am enjoying steemit and to be honest, I am growing faster studying that blog and now I will be looking for you guys too. Thank you to follow me and to visit my blog daily. I will do the same for each and everyone of you.

Hey all, my name's Jon. I was born into the church and have attended for most of my life. Up until the past several years my faith wasn't my own, if you know what that means. It means it was my parent's faith, a second-hand faith. It was knowledge without much practice. I guess that's part of the trouble of the American church, we're given so much there's not much use for relying on God's way for our lives. I've been learning this slowly through financial troubles recently.

Our pastor has us seek a word for God to give us each year to build us spiritually, and this year my word is "Rely." I haven't done much with it this year, unfortunately, but faith is a journey. So I'm getting there.

I share my testimony here.

Thanks for sharing everyone!

I read your testimony and thanks for sharing @strangerarray. I love the testimony how God can turn someone who said "he hated God" to loving God and accepting Jesus Christ. I would love to hear more how exactly did it happened that you confess your sins and accepted Jesus. You just said you started reading the Bible and then it happened, would love to hear more about that process.

How exactly it happened was through prayer to God. As Romans 10:9-10 says: "because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved."

I had known about Jesus from being in church as a kid, but didn't come to a saving faith in Him until this experience.

Thanks @scotty777!

I was the same. After I got respect for what Jesus did for me on the cross and I was born again I am a new person. All the glory and honor to the Lord

Looks like I'm late for church!! 😬 The last reply was 8 months ago, yikes! Is this thread still open, or will I be talking to Mr. Nobody? I'll proceed as I see what result this test reply gets. Thanks.
