Hey all, my name's Jon. I was born into the church and have attended for most of my life. Up until the past several years my faith wasn't my own, if you know what that means. It means it was my parent's faith, a second-hand faith. It was knowledge without much practice. I guess that's part of the trouble of the American church, we're given so much there's not much use for relying on God's way for our lives. I've been learning this slowly through financial troubles recently.
Our pastor has us seek a word for God to give us each year to build us spiritually, and this year my word is "Rely." I haven't done much with it this year, unfortunately, but faith is a journey. So I'm getting there.
