Hi @futurethinker! Thank you so much for the Steem! 🤗💚
Today, I will write about a friend I met last night. I needed to find a place to stay because my flight got cancelled due to typhoon Urduja. There’s this very homey hostel here in Tacloban, the Yellow Doors Hostel.
She was one of my dormmates. Like me, she needed some place to stay because there were no trips going to her town already.
She is a dialysis patient for over a year now. She’s a psychologist, maybe that explains why her self-awareness and her thoughts about life is truly impressive, or she’s really is just a beautiful soul. The way she handles her case, and talks about it like its just a piece of cake. I truly loved listening to her journey as a dialysis patient and her life story.
“If I stop dialysis I’m gonna die. If I continue, I’ve got few years to live. So you just have to make the most out of it, and spend your time with people who really matter.” -Ate Karen
There are a lot of beautiful things I heard from her yesterday that truly pierced through my soul. I told her that she should write her story and I’m pretty sure its gonna be truly inspiring. Perhaps, I need that conversation to realize a lot of things. By the way, I introduced her to Steemit so she could share her amazing journey here. ☺️💚
