Sadly, the majority of these homes, which form communities, are under threat. Despite being there for decades, generations, they are almost without exception built on and over land belonging to others, and thousands are scheduled for destruction by the BMA. I live on Klong Prem Partchakon in the Lak Si District of Bangkok, and I love the community here. But times are changing, and sadly, those with the least power will have the least influence over the future of their own lives.
