It's kinda a cool project, @commentrewarder, but honestly I don't really know what to make of it. Mainly because interaction on my posts still sucks, even with it enabled.
There's a risk that if you get a big payout and only mid comments that you might reward some mid replies with more than just an upvote. Since I'm also using @dustsweeper, which apparently now protects both incoming and outgoing comment votes, it might cost me a couple HBD pennies, in addition to 5% of the post payout, all for some mid reply that I maybe shouldn't have upvoted to begin with.
A couple of pennies here or there might not be much, but right now, while I'm trying desperately to rebuild my stack, it makes me grumble a bit. Even though I'm anxiously awaiting every comment and post payout to put in orders for more Hive to power up, I gotta remind myself that a few pennies isn't worth getting upset about.
I also keep forgetting to adjust the auto-reward percentage to 3% though. No idea why no one thought it was worth the time to update PeakD to allow other default percentages. In the US we have sales tax on almost everything, so you become pretty well aware of how big of an impact a few small percent can have.
So now I'm sending 5% to potentially mid replies? GAH! It's frustrating. But it's a penny for their thoughts. I can't help that more people didn't find me on that post and have more to say.
I want to keep using it, and I think it's good, but it's still frustrating.
It also doesn't work how I thought it would after initially reading about it. I thought it was using upvotes.
Apparently they send the rewards from your post directly to the commenters? Do I have that right?
Makes me feel good when I have an old friend comment or someone that really helps me. Makes me wish I had it enabled earlier. I think a lot more people will have it enabled in time.
I think as time moves on, more people will seek out posts that have @commentrewarder enabled, to make comments to them. That may be good or bad. On the one hand we'll get more comments. On the other hand, they may be a lot of worthless comments. Only time will tell.

Not exactly what I had in mind, but I couldn't find a Creative Commons image that I wanted to use, so I gave it a try. I found this final image interesting enough to use.
I'm only recently posting after a hiatus, so I haven't looked at it much, but it seems like a good idea if it helps train people to engage more. Hive seems pretty dead compared to what it used to be.
