We buy/order quite a few fruit trees/shrubs every year, but mostly in the spring. I usually go nursery hopping to see what everyone has. Getting it from a local nursery is usually the best especially if they propagate them there because the prices are better and they are less likely to be root bound. If you buy online, buy bare root plants to keep from getting root bound plants. They also tend to be less expensive.
