One of the first things I realized in grad school was that I should make every written assignment do double duty and find a way to relate it to my thesis topic. I had to get creative, at times, to make certain assignments applicable. I wasn’t always successful (some really obscure theory just didn’t fit no matter how hard I tried), but I was way ahead of the game when it came time to write my thesis. I am impressed with the efforts here by some of the freewriters in their ability to carry a plot thread weaving in the #freewrite prompts. I look forward to seeing the progression of these stories, and may take up the challenge as well.

You are in!! And repurposing everything you do as much as possible is the way to go in school - and, on a much smaller, here on this platform. (mw)
