Painfully true; go for the student loan post as I think it's even more evil. It is second only to mortgage debt, unless my data are old. In the US we are encumbering undergraduates with tens, if not hundreds, of thousands of dollars of debt for a degree that gives them little chance of even getting a job. We're talking TRILLIONS of dollars. It is pure evil!

It stands the same everywhere I guess. In the name of providing supports they are putting the money in a long term investment. Nothing wrong with that, but the fact that the are not bothered by the scary facts of unemployment and the economic situation and not considering negotiation and change in ROI is sad indeed.
I confess that I tend to see ALL debt as bad, especially when it enslaves people for much of their life.
@yulem, Well it is bad. But the economy in today's world and the human nature got so twisted. The debt and loans for something that you really need is okay, because you understand the it is necessary for your growth. But a loan taken for a really want stuff is stupid unless you know what you are playing with. It is like a double-edged sword. A intelligent person will use it as weapon and tool to win situation, while an idiot would use it to fool around and ending up with a severed toe.
