RE: Fear of the Mask

in #covid4 years ago

At the beginning, probably 11 months ago now, when I started wearing a mask in doors it felt very strange to be the only one.

Then as time went on and more and more mandates required masks it felt more normal.

I find the "creative" face coverings like bandanas, etc evoked a similar feeling in me, but the medical style or standard behind the ear masks don't.

Even 10 months on I still don't like wearing them, and don't wear it outside. My partner does, but that is because of the cold windy winter air and they are more comfortable with them on.

Interesting that you find the more layed back masks more frightening, when I hate the basic light blue paper things the most disgusting. I think it’s partly because I’m a visual person and something looking like a pad on your face is just so so ugly.

something looking like a pad on your face is just so so ugly.

100% it affects my attractiveness sensitivities, but it definitely doesn't cause my danger alertness instincts to heighten.
