Which cryptocurrency are you investing in?

Well as the title says what are you all investing in long term not including bitcoin.
Is there anything out there that some of us crypto noobs could benefit knowing about?
Any new promising currency in development?

I'm sitting on some ripple and pivx at the moment as my long term favourites.

What are all your thoughts on

Are my choices on ripple and pivx good for long term hold?
My reasons are well for pivx people are saying it'll be better then dash that's about it for that.
For ripple is the fact major banks are implementing it.

I know ethereum is supposed to be a good hold but at the price I see it now I've already missed the boat, I'm looking for promising cryptocurrencies that are literally fractions of a cent and have big promise!

Has anyone got any tips?

I support and mine little Bitbars (BTB) ... no one remembers they were once worth more than Bitcoins!! :))

I've never actually heard of them

Little Bitbar! $0.70! WOW! It's worth more than Steem!
https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/bitbar/

I'm still new to all this getting there slowly in understanding it all but it really is quite daunting!

Steemit (our platform) is the blockchain and Steem is our crypto-coin. That is the easiest explanation.

Don't worry to much about the crypto-coins, and just focus on the blockchain for now ... that is where the future is at :)

I'll be honest I have to read up on what blockchain actually is I just know it has to do with cryptocurrencies

What are bitbars used for and there's only 29000 of them?

Bitbars are ultra-rare so the price is high. 99.9% of crypto-coins are for hoarding or trading.

I'm riding ripple, bitshares, and Steem. I was on ethereum but for ethical reasons can no longer support them.
I'm eyeing PivX but waiting for a drop if it happens.

Could you see steem rising dramatically if this just takes off all of a sudden?

Yes, but I believe that the current price is already being artificially devalued for several reasons. One being big investors selling at a loss to get tax refunds, while simultanesouly buying up cheap Steem on the side.
Towards the end of April could mark the end of cheap Steem. I'm watching the price go down and ready to pick up some more ^_^
I value Steem at $100+, no less. Its tech is superior, and on top of that it has intrinsic value through Steemit.

Really 100+ for me now I wouldn't have said more then a few dollars at most! But I'm a total noob when it comes to all this, being honest I don't even know what a blockchain is haha I just know it's associated with digital currencies

When you consider the features of the Steem blockchain compared to others you can see the value. For example if I want to send you Steem I just need your username. The transfer is also instantaneous. The Steem blockchain is also designed to overcome the scalability problems that other coins such as bitcoin are facing. There are so many amazing things about the steem blockchain which are undervalued.
Also "the fabric" architecture is coming out at the end of the year. A blockchain is a hashchain inside of a hashchain. "The fabric" is like a blockchain inside of a blockchain. It will really spped things up with developments and other aspects of the blockchain.

Targets based on Elliot Wave theory
Factum (target .5 bitcoin) But I think Bitcoin is coming way down based on current and long term fractal.
Ethereum (target $72 at least)
Dash (target $160)

onlyvoluntary . . . how do you put graphics in a post? I'm new here.

My cryptocoins of choice are XEM, DMD (Diamond), DNotes, and of course, Steem and Steem Dollars. I'm bagholding NEU, but wouldn't recommend it at this point. I'm also seriously considering getting involved with PIVX.

What are your reasons for XEM?

Hey,

I have now
Ethereum
PIVX
Ripple
Litecoin

and Dogecoin (just for fun) => But +10% last day

Do you see no value at all in dodgecoin? Did you just purely buy it because it is ridiculously cheap on the slight hope it may rise?

I bought it because there are very cheap, bought for 5$. But if they would ever increase in the next months/years it would be nice. If not, so be it. Not a real investment just for fun.

I feel like GNT is going to be strong this year.
You might want to research XEM as well

Why XEM?

I was thinking about buying some Gulden but just kinda went off the idea, you think there is potential there?

I bought 54 DASH a few years ago, when they were DARK Coins. When I read about them, I could see the value in them. I had some spare change in BTC laying around, so I took a chance and bought 54. I forgot I even had them until mid January. I paid less then $150 for all 54. When I rediscovered them they w ere worth more than $800. Today, 8 weeks later, they are worth $5,663.32. I'm pretty happy with that. When I saw what was going on with the coin, I sold some silver and bought more dash. Wow, was that a good idea. I have made some great money in a short time. I expect DASH to go to $300 in less than six months. We will see.

That's exactly the type of investment 4 wanna hit just a new coin that you've a good feeling about, few years later boom! Well that's the dream!

Smile, yes it is.

Are you holding on to anything at the moment other then dash?

I have 4781 MaidSafe coins. Once again. I could see where they would have value if the Safenetwork every actually happens. They have been working on it for a couple of years. Seems like they are getting close. Time will tell. I bought 1000 Black Coins, but I think I lost them when Cryptsy crashed. Haven't had a chance to really pursue it.

I really need to do some reading up on all these currencies, I only really know of the main ones
