πŸ‘€ The ICO Market Since 2014 Visualised In Some Very Nice Graphs - This Market Is Huge And Growing Exponentially

in #cryptocurrency β€’ 7 years ago

At the conference I attended a few days ago, one of the speakers used some very nice graphs about the ICO market. I managed to find out where he got them and want to share them here with you. BTW, I'm working on a mini-series about all the stuff I picked up at the conference. You can find the first part with some unique insights here.

There is even a cool interactive version of this image!

As you can see it seems that Europe is winning in numbers and when it comes to total amounts raised Asia, Europe and North America are around the same. Not all ICOs are included though. Only the ones that raised more than $100,000 and before Nov 29th, 2017. But check out that rise within that interactive version or in the graph below, insane!

It is estimated that ICOs raised over $6.3 billion until November 2017. By now, that is probably around $7.5 - $8 billion. And it grows a lot still:

The ICO market is crazy. Just today we had 3 ICOs taking place that caught my eye: BeeToken, WePower, MedicalChain. Not all good ICO practices though...

ICOs per country

When taking a look at the number of ICOs per country, we see a very strong pattern. Next to the USA, Russia and China, the countries with clear regulations have a lot of ICOs too: Switzerland, Singapore, Canada and Estonia.

Even though we don't have clear regulations here in the Netherlands, we're still on the 9th position with 10 ICOs until November 2017 worldwide and 5th place within Europe.

If we look at the raised amounts instead of the number of ICOs, we get these graphs:

So, Switzerland, UK and Russia are definitely the biggest in Europe and The Netherlands takes the 11th position.

Anyways, I thought these we nice graphs to share with you guys. Easy to understand and gives you an idea about how big this all is. If you ever need some of these nice graphs, visit Elementus.io, that is where I got these :-)

Thanks for sharing this. I am currently working in ICO consulting and it really is crazy how many different ICOs are being launched. At a conference I was at, the number of 5 per day was being thrown around.. crazy!
Thanks for sharing this visual, really interesting! I would really appreciate any feedback you have on my posts.

Definitely crazy, and a lot of ICOs are really under the radar. A lot of Russian and Eastern European. Quite interesting products but they seem to be less good at the American way of marketing/hyping. I guess it is at least 10 a day now and more to come.

I've been following your posts a bit, some good stuff in there. If I have any specific feedback I will comment :-)

Best tip btw for your consultancy work: make sure the founders have tried to participate at least in 2-3 ICOs themselves to see what all goes wrong. It is quite easy to do it right in my opinion but somehow they don't seem to care. Let them feel the frustration 1 or 2 times themselves and the quality of their own ICO definitely goes up!

Yep they are! And great to hear, thank you!

And thank you for the tip! I generally only work with people with an impressive history and that have a genuine reason for using the blockchain.

Thanks for getting back to me, will definitely take in to account what you said!

With so many new ICOs and altcoins coming out everyday. I find it hard for coins that do not have a niche to flourish in the long term. Coin niches can be from donations to research of cancer all the way to payment for producing and watching adult content. It creates a talking point that will draw in new investors. To create a coin that will last longer than a year and a half.

Jep there are so many out there, it is almost impossible to pick the winners. The same happened 3.5 years ago and 95% of the projects started then, are not alive anymore.

Ico it's this is a new wave in the development of any business from the start-up, a new financing model separated from banks and financiers, why it was not invented before ...

Yap, very interesting model indeed. It is a dangerous one too because there is practically no risk involved for the founders. Would be great to see some more incentives for the founders to really deliver. And some mechanism for accountability baked in.

i am interest to invest in ico.

Definitely interesting to try. Have you subscribed to any project's whitelist already?
