Crypto is nearly at a tipping point.
(What's a tipping point? Check out: The Tipping Point: How Little Things Can Make a Big Difference by Malcolm Gladwell)
Essentially a Tipping Point is when all the ducks line up on a new idea - or in this case tech - and suddenly what was once a 'pushing the envelope' kind of an idea suddenly becomes mainstream.
What makes me think this?
All you really need to do is scan a crypto news site like cryptopanic.com for a few minutes and you can see the bubbling energy of an emerging technology pushing daily through yesterday's limits.
Just looking at the above screenshot:
- Block. One is about to close a USD $4 Billion ICO (Initial Coin Offering). This is serious bickies in anyone's language.
- Political turmoil in the Eurozone (not to mention the almighty USofA) sees pundits noting the strengths of Bitcoin as a hedge investment
- Northern Philippines to be a crypto hub - means investment is happening to attract and retain crypto jobs, businesses and money in all corners of the world
Note that these are from a quick can and don't even cover off on some of the big news stories today (like the immanent EOS launch, bug hunts and bug fixes - and what Block. One is going to do with its massive war-chest. Apart from investing USD $1Billion in businesses building decentralised Applications, or DApps on the EOS blockchain that is), let alone from the last week, month or year (such as IBM and Hewlitt Packard Enterprises partnering with cryptos, or the immanent incursion of Wall St into crypto markets etc etc etc).
The point is, Tipping Point is approaching - faster and harder than I think even some die hard crypto fans anticipate.
This is no bubble. Within a few years, crypto tech will be supporting a new, secure internet. And with cryptos like EOS seamlessly allowing applications access to the full range of blockchain benefits, most people won't even know.

@drworm, yes you're right. Crypto has practically taken over the headlines of every internet news.
But I'm not surprized why it is so. It's the world's future currency, and the more knowledge people have about it, the better.
Thanks for sharing.
You are absolutely correct, crypto curremcies are taking over the internet because they are the future a global internet economy, while paper currency is looking like a thing of the past. Thanks for sharing your point of view with us
What about the fate of bitcoin gold?
Is there any good news?
Thanks @drwom
Great article, I could not agree more. Bitcoin gave us the blockchain, Ethereum realized the smart contract and now EOS brings us a completely new way to interact with both of these ground breaking ideas.
I am super pumped by what we will see in just a few weeks now.
