The post misinterprets the context of the message. Also, the word does not translate to what was mentioned. To people reading this, feel free to use google translate. While slang was used in chat, it was not meant to be disrespectful. To clarify, Everex has submitted the token for approval, paid submission & legal fees, and provided all required documents. Additional documents were requested which were later submitted. It is not easy to adjust/adapt the entire token economy but was adjusted with documentation resubmitted. That is all we could say. Please DO NOT spread FUD.
We have reviewed this internally and will be more careful with casual talk in chat and would kindly like to apologize in advance for the inconvenience this may have caused.
This is dunowat from the Everex community. Atichai would've responded directly, but he does not have a steemit account and requires approval. We try to balance the information we provide to the community and while taking our partners requirements into consideration.
You gotta be kidding right? use google translate for such slang? as i'm a highly skilled thai slang user i'm gonna break it down for you and anyone who's reading this.
This is what Golf S. exactly said in Thai, i will write it down for you if you'd like to use google translate.
Golf S. : @Peter Bittrex กวนตีนครับ (ขออภัยในคำพูดไม่เหมาะสมครับ แต่หาคำอื่นมาบรรยายไม่ได้จริงๆ)
this is for 'กวนตีนครับ' result from google translator.
Peter was asking about coin listing and......!!!! what to do with 'Scream' in Golf S. reply?????? LOL yea as i told you google translate isn't working for such slangs. So..... Mr.dunowat stop fooling people who doesn't know/understand Thai language well by pointing google translate, cheap trick bro!! please try again.
here comes the rest (ขออภัยในคำพูดไม่เหมาะสมครับ แต่หาคำอื่นมาบรรยายไม่ได้จริงๆ)
The translation is exactly what it meant in both languages, you know why? because there's no slang in this part and google translate is pretty accurate with the proper language. and i guess you have no problem with this but the 'กวนตีนครับ' phase that you're concern about. so let's get into it.
Usage of the words and their meaning
'กวนตีน' (it's pronounce as 'Guan Teen'/กวน = Guan, ตีน = Teen) there is not an exact translation in English! if you'd like to know i will do that for you 'กวน' = 'stir', 'ตีน' = 'foot', so 'กวนตีน' = 'stir foot'?? is that make sense? heck no!!! i will say it one last time 'THERE IS NOT AN EXACT TRANSLATION IN SLANG ACROSS LANGUAGES'
กวนตีน in Thai isn't really disrespectful words but it is impolite/inappropriate words for sure, why? we do not air these words on the regular tv shows or publish on the media, but we do see these words sometimes but either with whispering or censorship. and we can see it somewhere else in the place that allowed 15+ 18+ rate depends on specific policy.
we usually use these words among close friends 'ONLY' , never used it with people who deserved the respect ie. teachers, parents or older folks.
So, let's break down a little bit more on Golf S.'s sentence
he said 'Brittrex กวนตีนครับ' which translate to 'Bittrex is f*cking with us' okay that might be a bit exaggerate translation, right? Mr. dunowat. so let's put it down this way 'Bittrex is fricking with us' that sounds wayyyyy better, cool? but later Golf S. also apologize for for using such words, why?? because he knew it was inappropriate to say to Bittrex at the first place!, so why used it and show your unprofessional play huh? Mr. Golf S., using such words in a public community group chat would not be a wise choice. Thinking of people who don't know the situation, what will they think about Bittrex?
I've come a long way to this but, well, if you have anything to debate about this, please feel free to do so.
Ps. I meant no harm or FUD but respect, rightness, transparency and professionalism are things i'd love to see.
We apologize for that and as mentioned we've discussed this internally about the informal slang used. I understand this must've offended you enough to create a new account and write this post. As you mentioned, Atichai was apologetic. We do not condone his actions and discussed this with our team with how to improve communications with the community. The context can be taken normally with friends and usually chat's are more casual so we understand that our audience has expanded and will be more careful.
I've discussed this with Atichai personally and can assure you he knows he made a mistake. I can speak Thai so I know how the term can be taken. We will adjust the way we communicate.
Mate, what is your problem. Who cares what he said, really! They want to be listed on Bittrex and are jumping hoops to do so. I'm sure it's frustrating. What I am hearing here is a guy with a personal vendetta against Everex, or its employees. Why in the world you take to social media to broadcast such rubbish is beyond me! But I guess that is why we have free speech; it allows every lame ass to rant and rave!
