However my thinking is that the current witch hunt mentality is being driven by something. And it seems that something may be the prospect of transferring a portion of the allocated reward pool to increase the payouts for the Reward Pool Mining Bot Farms.
I would really be interested to find out what percentage or the reward pool is being redistributed through down votes. This would provide a clearer picture of what the driving force is being motivated by.Hi @osblog I was hoping that @netuoso would elaborate at it was the subject of one of his previous posts.

I haven't had a chance to get around to this yet, but I am planning to do some kind of post about the benefits of sending the flag rewards to the null account.
Btw, downvotes are VERY rare on Steem. I would say less than a single percent of rewards are being redistributed through downvotes, but I will have to do some research to verify or disprove this hypothesis.
