RE: Crypto Noob Question : Why does everyone hate Ripple?

in #cryptocurrency8 years ago (edited)

Most people hate Ripple because they sell their technology primarily to banks, but they are not a "banker coin" as everybody keeps saying. Frankly this is a really dumb statement. It's like calling a furniture company that sells to banks, "bankers' furniture"

The only other real reasons for people not to like Ripple is their lack of mining and the very large amounts of Ripple that they hold in reserve. People see this as an opportunity for them to devalue the coin. They would need to be incredibly stupid to do this though.

Unfortunately, all the negative sentiment from the "crypto-religious types" has in my view slammed the price, despite the fact that they are an extremely fast and effective coin for payments. It blows away Bitcoin and Ethereum for speed.

Hello, I believe why they call it a banker coin is that Banks run the nodes. It is much faster than bitcoin because their mining is centralized. So, of course, it's faster. Also less secure.
