This is hilarious! Dogecoin is getting hardforked into Dogecoin Cash (NOT DCash!!!!). This is what Doger Ver, early DogeCoin adopter has announced on the Dogecoin subreddit.
DOGECOIN CASH
The post below was posted by Doger Ver on the subreddit:I had to laugh out loud when I read this: hilarious!
Of course it's a play on Roger Ver and Bitcoin Cash, making some clever tongue in cheek jokes about 'Dogecoin Core' and 'NOT DCASH' which is pretty hilarious in itself.
But it's even more funny to me, because this is probably not a joke!. Or it is, sort of, in a way, but what I mean is that I think they are actually going to fork Dogecoin and make this Dogecoin Cash fork!
WHEN MOON?
And truthfully, I think it's going to do extremely well! We all know that Dogecoin is the stubborn old memecoin that recently spiked to over $1billion USD in market cap, or $0.01 per Doge. And we know that forks do tend to bring in a lot of new money. Add to that the fact that they are actually going to develop, and improve/alter the code to make it 'more' than just a copy makes me think a lot of people are going to jump on this bandwagon. Dogecoin to the moon, shall be sung once more. And oddly enough, Proof-of-Luck, where transactions go through based on luck.... actually sounds like a sort of fair system to me. Making the blocks super tiny is interesting too: blocks will be fast and can be transmitted through everything - even SMS... that is actually a pretty big deal.
I'm sure the intention is somewhere mixed between having a good old internet LOLZ as well as making a buttload of money, but I will be keeping my eye on DogecoinCash to see what happens. I would never recommend investing in Dogecoin, but it'll be interesting to see how it plays out and if, indeed, even Dogecoin Forks can yield a lot of new value.
Dang, I literally just made a post about how hard forks are HORRIBLE!!!
https://steemit.com/cryptocurrency/@exxodus/why-hard-forks-are-horrible-for-cryptocurrencies
Haha, then Doge comes along and does it.. and why doesn't like Doge? When Doge does it, it sounds a lot less scammy. Because with Doge you know what you're getting into: a lolcoin :)
lol this is funny
It really is! I wonder if there will be infighting about which is the 'true' Dogecoin after this..!
good doge go tthe moon
I thought that it was already on it's way to Jupiter, now that it's passed $1 billion!!
But yes, good old Doge.
I think the old school Bitcoiners are pumping it up.
damn! over a Billion already? Booyah!
that is pretty interesting and funny. I wouldn't be surprised either if it moons. the proof of luck thing is a bit odd to me. So you are saying that a person could buy coins and send them to their wallet and there is a possibility that the coins would not reach the wallet if they are "unlucky?" or did I misinterpret that?
Well, no.. currently with BTC you have to pay a fee to 'skip in line' to get preferential treatment in getting your transaction through before the others. This is why the fees are high.
With Proof of luck there is no longer a way to skip ahead in line: randomness determines the order in which transactions go through. One transaction occurs per block. It's totally Doge, I must admit :)
oh ok. that makes more sense. I actually like that. I think its a good idea
Shibes ? π , maybe they can call themselves SheebesCash?
Haha!
Much wow, such Cash?
I fucking love DOGE.
Then now you can argue with other Dogecoin fans over which is the true Dogecoin!
Luckily, contrary to Satoshi Nakamoto, the developer of Dogecoin is available! He's even on Steemit, did you know? @ummjackson is Jackson Palmer's account :)
Haha. The thing is your right, It will probably do well out of this. Crypto is a crazy thing at times ππ
If Bitcoin Cash is worth 1/6th of a Bitcoin, would Dogecoin Cash be worth 1/6th of a Doge? :)
Such wow
Congratulations!

This is why the internet is great :-D
I was there to see the launch of DOGE and it was actually the very first crypto I ever bought. I used 4 cents I got from a BTC fountain and sent it over to CoinsE (which doesn't exist anymore) with NO FEE.
I only bought it cuz it was the cheapest alt-coin at the time and I could get the most units. I was a classic NOOB!
I had a bunch of Doge too but I simply mined it back in 2013. I sold it at some point when all the markets crashed early 2014, and turned it all into btc and ltc so I didn't have to bother with a ton of wallets. And besides, Dogecoin.. never expected it to survive this long, let alone thrive.
I have always thought Dogecoin should be picked up and continued development on, and perhaps turn it into a children's cryptocurrency. It's super cheap and even kids can own hundreds. It would educate and raise an entire generation on crypto and teach them all about it. I learned about crypto through Dogecoin too, because it was so cheap that it didn't matter if I made a mistake!
I have some doges already :D
Everybody needs to have atleast some Doge.
Not because it's sensible, but simply because it's Dogecoin!
The creator, Jackson Palmer, is actually on Steemit under the username @ummjackson? Did you know? I thought it was pretty cool to actually talk to him on here a while ago!
haha this is amazing! Did you catch if current DOGE holders would be getting any Dogecoin Cash out of the deal, too? I gotta go read that reddit...
Yes, actually a fork means that you need to own the original chain, in this case Dogecoin, in order to receive Dogecoin Cash. Just like with Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash. If you own 1000 Dogecoin, you will get 1000 Dogecoin Cash!
well then - I'mma just gonna buckle my Dogerocket seatbelt... XD
doge go moom
