The Scenery around The Pavilion in Suwon.

in #culture7 years ago

Suwon is famous for the fortress which had been built by King Jeongjo of Chosun Dynasty in late18c.
His father was sentenced to death by his gradfather YoungJo.
It meant that YoungJo killed his son.
It could’ve happened in Palace sometimes.
Father of King JeongJo was killed because of strange and cruel behavior. But real reason was the power struggle between political factions.
It is very interesting story. I’d like to post this story next chance.

Anyway King JeongJo decided to built new capital to mitigate the power strutggle causing the death of his father. Suwon fortress and Palace had been built by this reason.

The pavilion what my mom had drawn was the observatory of the wall.
As the name of pavilion, meaning of the name was full blossom of flowers and bending willows, the best season is Spring. But the scenery of the entrance to Winter was also awesome.

So in this posting, I’d like show you the photos around the pavilion.
My camera was not so good for outside scenery.
But the scenery was amazing to me.
I hope you enjoy the scenery.

At first, around the wall.

Secret entrance of the wall

Does it look like the secret entrance ? not so quite for me.

The pond and the wild ducks in front of the pavilion.

Times were so much more difficult back in those days.
Father killing his own for the sake of power.
Constant battle to win kingdoms .
I'm glad we are living in a more happier age.

I've been in Korea for about 4and a half years now and Suwon fortress is still on the top of my list as the place I want to visit the most

I like these pictures. Thanks for sharing. Perhaps you can see my images in my account where has many photos

I'm really fascinated by the architecture of this fortress, it looks like perfectly integrated with the natural landscape! It's really beautiful and bigger than the fortress that we can see in Italy. I have to say that the story of why it was built is very interesting, even if it's a "bloody" story ^_^ Thanks for share it.

Good post

a really great architecture, I love to see such old buildings.

Amazing photo..

Nice photo :)

Would love to hear from you on the story of Father of King JeongJo on next post for sure..

Your photography skill is damn good.. look at the duck reflection on not so clear water level, that insane difficult for even a professional photographer to capture it, the angle have to be correct, the sun provider of the light on external surrounding have to be at right balance of emittance, and you are so humble mentioning you capture that on your camera which is not good for external photography.. im mesmerized with your photography skill then.. :)

Damn the fortress look very well maintained, cant believe it is already 2000 years pass by... thanks a lot for your effort to bring this beauty into steemit.. love it.. steem on
