In a case like this it really doesn't matter if the video is old - the post itself seems to be new, I don't find anywhere else online that they are posting these blog posts. I checked their website and their blog and did some Google searching - I do believe this is fresh original content to Steemit. And it is really good! Well written, interesting, and well illustrated with original photography.
I actually considered submitting this pretty hard, I think it might be approved for Curie if it was submitted. There was really only one thing holding me back, which is that the author has received a fair number of the small community Curie votes including one on a previous part of this same series. Curie isn't huge on rewarding multiple parts of the same series. This might be a kind of nitpicky thing, but I do always check the lifetime Curie votes for an author and take that into consideration, and in this case it seemed a little risky so I passed.
