Steel frame single speed. Retrospec is the brand. Upgraded the wheels, new brakes and levers. I'm upgrading it piece by piece. It's nothing really special but I love it and it serves its purpose well. I'm sure one day I will go fully geared, carbon eyc etc but where I live it's all flat except the city overpasses so I'm gold.

Fantastic, sounds like it is suiting you well specially for what you need. Carbon is a great upgrade but its not always 'best' - sometimes going with an aluminum frame will do just fine. I remember seeing a review on GCN where they compared two frames (aluminum & carbon) same frame, same exact components - they could barely tell the difference and the weight offset was so minor that you'd have to be a pro to actually care.
