And before a 100km mountainbike race with 1800m elevation gain you just drink a couple of !BEER s? Wow....
I only had one !BEER , I am the one with the coke in the first photo. I also don't believe to drink alcohol before or after a race, but now and then I will join my friends for a drink. I actually have a feel good story, I was diagnosed with stage 3 Lymphoma in 2019 (I did a few posts on it at the time), but praise the Lord, I am completely recovered. Although I did do some cycling in the gym and was reasonably fit, I only started cycling last year in July when I turned 60.
I'm glad to hear that you recovered and !HOPE you don't get this nasty disease ever again! And if you started #cycling at 60 and get such a results you might consider what a career you've left untouched in your younger years... But hey, it's never too late to start enjoying doing sports! !LUV !LOLZ
Good heavens, what a stunning ride! I love all the carb-loading! Here in Cape Town, we see so many people do this before the Argus Cycle Tour. I remember working in hospitality and always having to make sure we were ready with our pasta dishes!

Yes, pasta is a thing for all endurance events. This ride really was amazing.
