As a father of three I totally get where you are coming from. I remember the days being on the floor and playing Barbie and having epic super battles with the characters from the Incredibles movie. I’ve had my make up done and my toes painted because that what my girls were into at the moment. From snuggles during TV shows I’d never watch if given the choice to dance parties while driving in the car it all about our kids. My children are getting older now and we are up off the floor but nothing has changed. Just now I can see how their interests have the opportunity to become life long passions. At the moment I’m gearing up to teach my son to drive, learning to play guitar because of my daughters passion for music and playing flute and becoming the ultimate cheer dad for my competitive cheerleading youngest. As thy get older it may sometimes seem like they don’t care as much or want more alone time but the need to have your undivided attention and interest in their “thing” never goes away. Remember to always make time to talk and listen. Amazing the things you learn.
