That's so good. Kids just want to know they're valued and loved. They want to know that their interests are important and that you want to spend time with them. Maybe you wouldn't play with Thomas the Tank engine on your own (no judgement though), but it becomes about so much more than the activity when you're doing it with you child. It's a bond and maybe even a memory that can last a lifetime.
