RE: To Downvoters and my ex-followers, I'd like to continue my blog

in #dblog5 years ago (edited)

Oh don't worry. The big delegators all know what they do support. The downvote trails are even bigger, and growing.
The community is finally standing up against selling and trading votes. Only those who want to keep using the reward pool for their personal gains keep complaining. Those do not support the community as a whole, and we're better off without them.
Every steem that doesn't go towards self rewarders is available again for the rest of the users. That's why we see a lot of small authors earn more these days than before the free downvotes were introduced. This will allow the community to grow, and everyone who participates will profit.

You must be joking, @pharesim. Small blogs are dying here right now. It's carnage, as you can see in this post and especially in the comments:

Whale Tip! Only YOU Can Save NewSTEEM

Are you referring to this blog as a "small blog"? You realize he is consistently on Trending with content that is far worse than the majority of the actual small blogs on Steem? The entire point of downvoting the highest earners is to improve earnings for the smaller authors and content creators.

The ENTIRE POINT of the 7 day voting period on a post is to allow people to use their stake to decide what is under or over rewarded. You are not entitled to post earnings until the 7 day voting period has ended and you receive a payout.

No one is taking money from anyone's account. If you are aware of "small blogs" with valuable content that you feel are under rewarded, why are you not making an effort to help them get exposure so they can get more votes?
