It actually would make more sense to create a different simulation. Every time it runs to get more data. Of course, that's from the perspective of a human, not a super programmer.
There's comfort in the idea of an afterlife but even if the painful evidence points towards this being all we have, and enjoying it while it lasts seems like our only choice one can only wish.

Sure, but nothing prevents keeping your little paradise habitat separate so you can start a new universe sim without destroying it.
