RE: Bringing the Steemit community together to fight Suicide and Depression

in #depression7 years ago (edited)

Hmm.. Suicide and depression yeah? It is one of the things that is so subtle and yet I am pretty sure it is one of the biggest killers in our days. I was just led the other day to reach out to military families especially those who went into combat. I can't imagine what you have been through but there's just so much our soul can take. Post-traumatic stress is definitely no joke. Just read about your girl's letter to your best friend too. Thanks for sharing all this in such vulnerable manner. Seeking help itself is a form of courage to be vulnerable. Excellent effort for that, @derangedvisions :) I have to applaud you for that.

My voting power is not high because of my low SP. So I will use bidbots to upvote this post instead. Hope that helps :)

Good job @nathankaye too!! I'm so sorry you had to go through your friend's suicide. It is amazing to read about how his soul visited you to tell you it is a mistake. I often hear people say that they would regret half way on their way to the death of suicide. I guess to live, it requires even greater courage. Thanks for writing the song too! It is emotional but it is strong too in the message.

Thanks for your support. Even a little low SP vote and a resteem goes a long way to building a momentum for helping others.

Blessings to youYou have a compassionate heart @happycrazycon. If the song I wrote, and indeed entire album I created for this cause, helps save 1 life, then that's an achievement. It warms me to have been informed that it has already and will continue to do so with the help of wonderful people like you and @derangedvisions.

Oh these are such kind words from you. Keep doing what you are doing @nathankaye :) The world needs it. Bless the work of your hands and efforts to go far!

Thank you so much for your support. Suicide and depression is affects so many people but there is not enough light shed on the problem.

You are absolutely right on this! In Malaysia where I am, there was a suicide case that pierced my heart. A teacher suspected a student stole her iPhone and she denied. The teacher went to the house to speak with her parents. When they went to check on the student, she killed herself because she thought no one wanted to believe her. She left two letters behind, one is to her teacher, another to her parents. The one to her teacher is, she really didn't take the phone :(

I cannot see lives be gone just like this, because of perhaps some negligence. It could have been prevented. Sigh.
