RE: Is anyone else just not that excited about the prospect of preparing and consuming food?

This post made me ponder for a while Asher and I do get where you're coming from. How I overcame this was by romancing myself with cooking and eating. Firstly it's the thought of having a nutritious meal in your tool of a body and how you are going to feel afterwards, and then comes the prep-work. Stick some music on, and make the effort more effortless by turning it into an enjoyable experience. It's an arduous thing to do, but failing to prepare, is preparing to fail your body. I'm not a big foodie but your point resonated with me. Upvoted.

Thanks for the comment. I do believe I'd enjoy the whole process a bit more if I learned to love it, get some music on, make the kitchen a comfortable place, etc.

However, I don't think time in the kitchen equals quality of diet and nutrition. I mean, I've prepared 5 or so dishes that are really healthy constantly for 20 years now. They are also very quick to prep/cook and eat!

That's it really isn't it, the time in the Kitchen? We all want to save time as we only have 24hrs in a day and it's about making it as convenient as possible, like with a bit of kitchen machinery. You're right about us all heading toward a four course meal in a pack of biscuits, but that's not soul food. What you're making is soul food and that's the only positive addition I could add to the whole food prep experience. Just has to be done dude. ;-)
