Does seem like it always ends badly when corporations take it upon themselves to become arbiters in social policy. No matter what stance they take, it inevitably pisses off a large segment of their customer base... and then they are out there saying negative things. Better to just stick to what you're trying to do. Like fly airplanes...

In this case they will only upset existing customers but not actually gain any new ones, no one is going to choose the patronize them because they love gun control so much they would pay more for a flight.
