It is always a good idea if you replace one, replace the other one too while you are there. If that one was that bad then the other is to without a doubt. With plumbers putty roll it into a snake the length of what you need and lay it there.

Thanks! I didn't really think about replacing the other one and I probably should have as it is most likely to fail later. I will remember that with the plumber's putty. I had no idea how to do that so I just went with what seemed right. But, making a snake like you mentioned seems to make a lot more sense! Thank you for the feed back! --Scott..
