Alright, this is what I've done now. I got the box stained. I used a walnut stain cause I wanted it darker. I couldn't find where the kids put the paint brushes for the life of me, so I just used paper towels to rub it in. The stain I used seemed to dry up and get kinda gummy real quick, so wiping off the excess didn't go as cleanly as I liked. My solution? Well I just went over it all again with some fine sand paper to get off the grit, and it left a kinda weathered/distressed look, which I kinda like. So I stuck with it. Here it is.
There it is. All stained up and ready to get put all together. Next post will be the final one. I'll show some pictures of the process, but next time I get my hands on this, it will be to finish it up and try it out. Hopefully in the next day or so. I'll get it buttoned up.
Thanks again for reading,
Brian
