Inktober Day 7: Exhausted

in #drawing6 years ago (edited)

After my 10km race this morning I could have done a self-portrait, but I don't actually feel that bad.

This sketch was inspired by something I heard ages ago about how young children get the worst of car exhausts as they are low down. When I was a kid that stuff still had lead in it and it can't have done me much good. It's always good to see an electric car when I'm running or cycling as it won't have a direct effect on the air I breath. I know the power may come from fossil fuels, but it's not as inefficient as some people thing and it could have come from wind or solar. Petrol/diesel cars always pump out pollution.

I think we ALL felt akin to this word! Wow 10k You are like @winstonalden. He'll just go out for a 6k run of a morning as if it's a stroll down the lane. I'm defnitely a walker and meanderer, never been very good at running. I'm too distracted by toadstools and interesting moss to be any sort of good runner, but I can come home from a long walk with smiles and pockets full of treasures !:)

My running has allowed me to explore my area, but I don't tend to stop much. Being able to run this far took me a while to build up to. I needed to get fit, but I quite enjoy it.

hmmmm I never really looked at exhaust fumes like that, but I guess yes it would be directly hitting a child in the face!
The pic defo gets the point across and it is much better than something I could draw lol

I know my drawing is at a pretty low level, but it takes time to build skills and I haven't spent that much time on it. I've probably done more drawing in the last week than all the years since I was about 12.

Air pollution is an enormous problem that often is completely neglected. To be fair it is not only cars, but they do play a big role. My wife is always so worried about my health, especially after last year, and her hobby is to look at houses for sale in the countryside. When the children are old enough to move we might buy a house in Scotland :) She often looks at houses in Helensburgh where we once had a nice holiday.

Lol I see what you did there

hahhaha! Good use of the word "exhausted"... about the the picture quakity I would not comment LOL

I don't claim to be an artist, but then I barely call myself a musician :)
