Hello Steemians,
I would like to share with you my whole life dream of becoming a cadet of "Escuela Militar de Cadetes jose Maria Cordoba". This has been something I wanted to accomplish since I was I child and now it is the time to prove me that I was made to make this dream come true.
Last year (2017) I presented myself to the enrollment announcement. My family and I managed fulfill all the expenses for the flights and the final enrollment which is super expensive. I passed all the phases of previous selection to get to the best people at the final, at this point during all the phases approximately 1200 professionals who want to become a cadet from all over the nation have been eliminated. I felt very proud of being in the final group where there was 130 professionals but only 80 were to be selected from this point. Unfortunately this was not my moment and I got a "NO" from the selection council (this was one of the most painful things ever for me).
This year (2018) is going to be totally different... I have been preparing myself since december for physical and knowledge tests because now I know what it takes to get to the final again... and also I have the tremendous support of the commander of my state (Putumayo, Colombia) because I'm one of the few people who can represent this forgotten and poor state of my country. All things look to be right this year expect just one... I will mention that later...
This is my real story and I come to steemit to make something which I have never done before and I would like try it because this could be a life changer solution. But first I would like to prove that what I'm saying here is completely true:
These next documents are the forms I have to present this Thursday to the military school, this is one of the last steps to start making the physical and knowledge tests which are going to take place on the capital city Bogotá, Colombia.
I would like to show you more pages but would be impolite for me and for the military school do that...
I have to take some flights to get to the capital city to be on time because they call the candidates two days before they need you to be there for your personal presence. This is one of the situations that I'm trying to solve right now...
Each flight costs this:
Approximately 275 USD and I have to take 4 Flights. Which will make 1100 USD.
Here comes the expensive thing... the enrollment to the military school is around 8100 USD and I currently have saved from the last whole year 7000 USD (approximately) This means I'm not very far away from my financial goal of having all the money to cover all the expenses but I would have to make a loan to the banks to cover the rest of it. If you have may notice I'm living in colombia and 2200 USD which I currently need it is a LOT of money! I want to avoid to be in debt with banks because I know I will be interned during 6 months in the school, in fact this is a priority for me because I don't know how to pay the bills if I get a loan from the bank.
This is the critical part of this post... I would be so thankful with all the steemit community (I really mean it) who want to support me to fulfill my dream of becoming a cadet of the military school. That would be the most audacious thing ever!! I know this is financial support and there is a difference of 2200 USD but anything that helps me to reduce this difference will be a bless.
I will be eternally in gratitude with people who want to support me. I see this as a totally fair situation to try this through this amazing community to make my dream come true.
PD: Internship is going to take the first week of July.

What a fantastic goal! I applaud the dedication you have shown in pursuing it and am sure you will serve your country well. Everyone should have a chance to live their dream. I'm happy to support you in making it a reality.
I noticed in the flight plan your first & second flights are pretty close together. I don't know how easy it is to make connecting flights in Colombia, but personally I would allow myself at least an hour between flights just to be safe.

That training and the discipline to save for the expenses is inspiring, I am sure you will be of enormous value to your country and people. Your focus is commendable already. I am sure you will make it, and make a difference.

Would you go and kill people somewhere else if your government demanded it?
If not, dont.
There are many other ways you can help people than that.
it is an admin position, logistics and that stuff.. won't be on weapons... (unless needed)
I see. Thats a bit better, but still...Its a tough question to think about. Most conflicts are for resources / money.
I wish you the best of luck to get in. It would definitively be a great privilege and honor to get an education there...
