haha true, also depends on who is doing the rationalisation. From her side sure, from his side it might seem like a necessary evil taking her personality into account. I dunno which one our dear lady in the story will prefer, but I think not ripping the band aids will just make her more confused! Maybe she will becom more "responsible" when that happens?

The way I see it, by putting focus on her being able to look after herself as the main issue instead of blankly ripping it in a I don't want to be with you situation, before the relationship is over she should have adopted this new look at her own future although it starts as a means to prove that he should stay.
