Paradox of love lyrics

Verse I

.
You were always free to make your move.
Yeah, I never could imprison you:
Even if I wanted to.

Watched you take off on the wing:
A beauty rare that made me sing.
I hadn't even opened my mouth
When praise and curses freely flowed out.

Chorus

.
Paradox of love—I'm still in awe
No matter how long it's been:
You're on my mind, it still feels raw.
I spend my days in contemplation
Of sin and dynamics of law.

Verse II

.
You were always judge and juror too.
You write your own emphatic rules,
& I'm obliged to play along with you.

I saw you run the forest path,
When the lightning struck, I only laughed.
Through the fiery ash and aftermath
I still sat stolid, working on my craft.

Chorus

.
Paradox of love—I'm still in awe
No matter how long it's been:
You're on my mind, it still feels raw.
I spend my days in contemplation
Of sin and dynamics of law.

Notes

I didn't even intend on making this song today, but I was altering and chopping up a beatbox recording when this melody hit me. I recorded the vocals alone with the beatbox. Then I cut some kick to match the pattern on the beatbox, and some snare to beef up the sound. Also put some bass and some wah rhodes on the track. I decided to make a solo section for synth, and added some horn samples (ugh, nothing like real horns: hope they're not too cheesy!) The tuning was weird because I just matched whatever I already sang in with the beatbox. (ended up being A = 434 hz.) Definitely a demo because it's got some janky moments, but I still think it's worthy enough to share with you all and get your feedback! If you like the photos in this post, all credit goes to Carlos R., be sure to check out his Deviant Art page at this link.I feel like I'm getting my music skills back with this daily practice. Thanks for listening to my music! Have an amazing day! I love each and every person that is reading this post (and the ones that aren't, too.)

Specs

Tuning: A = 434 hz
Temperament: Equal
Tempo: 200 bpm
Key: D minor/Eb minor
Length: 3:38
Style: funk/jazz/soul

I was just listening to DSounds in the background and I recognized your voice. There is so much soul and love. Your falsetto is grooving. The paradox of love is an amazing piece. I wonder how you can do this every day. I like what you did with the mic fading in and out. It is a really catchy sound and with that funk you can catch our hearts and lift us up to a new level. Your hard work and effort shines through this production. Thank you for your overwhelming love. I'm sure this love will spread as you music spreads to each of us.

Oh wow that's so cool that it synchronistically started playing @mineopoly! I love the @dsound platform, it's hosting a budding revolution of new music. Amazing. Thanks for your kind comments and devotion to practicing unconditional love. It is a very powerful force. In fact, it is the only reason we are even here. I'm so grateful for the opportunity to create art for a living, so I try to work hard every day to consistently bring something of substance and quality to share. I really can't express how blessed I feel by it. It's incredible.

Thank you for checking up on me. You inspire me to go beyond the shell. I'm blessed to know you. Sometimes your poems are like psalms to me. Like everybody else I don't know what to say most of the time so I gave this post a special gift of thanksgiving for your blessing and mine.

Your superior designs give up most colorful look to your blog. Always saw me it. Look at lady how she relaxed near lake? Awesome.
Also your Dsound extremely superbly created.Nice melody here. I told you before if you can arrange some lesson looking post will be helpful for beginners who want to study @d-pend s music recorded. Highly appreciated.

Hey @madushanka, really thoughtful and helpful comment! I have noted your request for some tutorials and eventually I will get to it! You're wanting to see the process of recording, is that right?

I just listen your Dsound music you have prepared. Just awesome sound entire there. Jazzy sound heard. I always amazing how do you do this part daily basis. It was your talent and skill. Well he's been an amazing poet, tell you what? The best you can find on steemit, just started embracing the musical part to him,and it's been a revelation

Just checked out your blog for the first time. Beautiful poems and i love the way you put sound through them. Thanks for creating such lovely work! Sarah

Hey Sarah, thanks a lot for taking the time to read/listen to my work and comment. You're very welcome. Feel free to stop by anytime and leave any feedback you want to share. Have a nice day!

I shall indeed pop back your work is lovely. Thanks so much.

Really enjoyed this - great melody and loved the accompaniment of beat boxing and other tracks. Nice to hear you singing also!

Thanks! Yeah, I feel very rusty with my vocals, but at the same time it's something that feels so natural to me. I should start doing my vocal exercises again, ha.

I feel a lot of genres in the song a little rock, classics and funk, jazz maybe, but it's the typical song you can sing while gyrating, maybe with your woman in the dance floor
@d-pend is lettered in art

Horns are great! As my daughter says "Mum, play the song with the horns" Love your voice too man!!

I can say I think a bit tenor and bass voice though

Lol, that's awesome and a super cute quote! Thanks for checking out my tune :-D Glad you dig it!

Yes, you have been dug. You ever heard of the band six60 from New Zealand?

lmao @kaykunoichi. No I haven't, should I have? xD

Well, I'm a Hip Hop bead myself but six60 are my guilty pleasure lmao.I can't assume what music you like but thought i'd mention them. I guess the only reason is because you both have great voices xD

Ohhh that's dope thanks for getting me in the know about them @kakunoichi. I like a lot of different styles but anything with a groove is high up on the list :-D

Damn you got a great range of pipes on you! I enjoyed the beat, your vocals and no I didn't hear anything cheesy. Hope to hear more!

Haha thank you @steem-samiam. I'll definitely be coming with more, stay tuned! Appreciate your support and thanks for listening to my music :-D

Beautiful words... And a lovey rhythm. You are so incredibly talented!

Hey, thank you @wandrnrose7! I'm so glad you enjoyed it! Hope you've been well :-)

great harmonies @d-pend soulful. I'm pretty jealous of your wah rhodes patch. Yamaha?

Thanks man! Yeah it's a patch on my Yamaha Montage. It really has excellent sounds built in. So far I've just used presets, though there's so much more you can do with it.

Man this is funk-funk-funkkkkyyyyy... Snapping my fingers, bobbing my head, and if I could dance I'd get up and get dowwwnnnn!

Man, this is sick... so sick... You're like... UGH... How jealous I am of your talent man, lmao. Keep this up my man!

Word @jamesgetsit! I'm stoked the tune had that effect on you! If a song doesn't make me move while I'm making it I think something's wrong, ha!

Appreciate you checking it out dude. I definitely will keep it up :-D

Wow I feel the touch of the classics embedded in the joint, awesome voice though, I like the way you were top knotch with the instrumentals
Absolutely amazing and the funky beat my! You killed it

Awhh yea, gotta keep it classic @josediccus! Glad you feel the funk xD

is it okay to cry?
you have a soulful voice, i may not be an expert in music but i have good listening ears.
what's your inspiration for this?
listening to this it's like you are here talking to me in your words. the emotion behind every lyrics. this is something you cannot do without years of experience and lots of inspiration. ")
i'm just glad i happen to passed by your post.
thank you po!
-kuyaj

It's absolutely okay to cry. It feels good, too, if you do not shame yourself :-D
My inspiration... life itself! Not sure I can pinpoint it further. Perhaps my dreams from the night before I created this, actually. They were quite vivid with close friends of mine. I'm very happy you felt like I was specifically speaking to you. That means it was relatable, which is important. I'm glad you stopped by too @iamkuyaj! Thank you as well!

i'm alone in my room so its okay to cry. no one will know. haha
music indeed is the universal language. it breaks barriers, breaks borders and breaks nationality. all can unite in the world of music and i specifically loved soulful music, pierces through the heart. :)
we have a famous tag line from a coffee commercial in our country, the Philippines, asking a question;

Ikaw, kanino ka bumabangon?

Which means, who do you wake up for?
You never know that this song might have help someone and inspired someone so thank you for passion sir! :)

catching melody, versus easy to remember, nice singing - all components of a real hit-song

I am sure if it is rotated somewhere in radio stations it will be very popular.
But at the same time it's not just stupid pop-music about nothing.

And yes Love is full of paradoxes.
If you love, then make her free, and she will come back - a nice quote of somebody-)

Thanks for your comment @taliakerch. It would be quite surreal to me if my music became popular. However, in any case, I am only interested if I can create on my own terms. That's why I left the touring band I was in, because it did not reflect my intentions. You are quite right that if something is meant to be, it will happen. :-)

surreal?) why? you have fans here, maybe not all of them are sincere but definite people are I am sure.

so were you a part of the music band? So you're a professiaonal musician, not just a guy who likes to play something and does it just for a hobby) I had some ideas about it because your music is too good to be just occasional)

But I am not surprised you left the band, it's not yours for sure. You're a very specific person with crazy creativity and leadership, and such people can't be a part of a something, they are Something by themselves. There are too little place and freedom of mind for them in any limited conditions where they must depend on others' opinions.
I don't pretend to be a great psychologist, but I think so)

Excellent! This reminds me of the early days of MTV (early 1980s). I've tweeted this out as part of the #promotsteem campaign :

Thanks a lot for your support and doing the work promoting STEEM. It's greatly appreciated @transcript-junky!!

This composition is so nice,, good job

That music is candy for the ear's.

@nikko2192

Good music and lyrics.

Thanks a lot buddy :-)

Awesome ...

Thanks, glad you thought so @spiritualpower!

fantastic creation

Its cool even in She is a paradox. She is faithful and yet detached. She is committed and yet relaxed She loves everyone, and yet no one. She is sociable but also a loner. She is gentle and yet tough She is passionate but can also be platonic. In short, she is predictable in her unpredictability.

Thanks for your ode to paradox @mit1997 :-)

Yes you most welcome buddy

The song so beautifully describes the freedom in Love. Its got a very nice rhythm also. Enjoyed listening :-)

Hi @nainaztengra thanks a lot for listening to it. I'm glad you enjoyed it. Take care :-)

“Music can change the world because it can change people.”

Indeed. It all starts with us @vadimvinnichuk.

your work is always very good @d-pend, you always create with full inspiration and full of spirit, so meghasilkan extraordinary work. I really want to learn music, but I always fail, because I have no idea to create a good music in the hearing. So I was desperate to run it all. Because I do not have an artistic soul. But you are always successful, I really salute with your copy. Hopefully one day I can also be like you.
