It doesn't sound like you have a very positive view of Steemit. What makes trying to get people to join a social network a "recruitment scheme?"

I was taling about the behavior of those invited, not those who invite, i.e. you. I was talking about that giving up rate. So far what I do not like about Steemit is its remoteness from real, fiat money. And we still live in a world where we need fiat money to survive.

Not sure what you mean by "remoteness from real, fiat money." If you define real money as just fiat, then you're going to be sorely disappointed because you're in the wrong place. Cryptocurrencies are real money, and Steem is a real functioning economy. People are using it to pay for for goods and services, both within the Steem blockchain, as well as trading it for other crypto and fiat. Not sure how much more real you want to get with it.
