I believe a person should get involved in a job one loves to do so much that one would do it even without an '' external motivation'', which is a very important prerequisite for having a fulfilled life. That's what will make you put in the extra work.

Yah, you've said well. I consider myself so lucky to have found this out. It took me close to 10 years to find out this truth. I have always loved building softwares, but because of the family needs I had to meet, those of my brother and sister, I had to take a job I did not like, and life was frustrating. But the day I turned around, my life was filled with joy. I don't earn as much financially, but I earn much more emotionally and psychologically.
Thats true progress for me.
