Watch Copyright on DTube and a quick sunset video on DTube

This is my second DTube upload and I am not much of a video person so I am not sure how many I will put. Is anyone interested in seeing me put together a talk?Probably not.

I do have a question about copyright and the like on DTube though. I saw on the trending page under the DTube tag a video by Michael Jackson raking in 50 dollars and an upload of a 'leaked' Game of Thrones episode at 100. Who takes responsibility for copyright and legal issues?

I wonder this because as much as I hate censorship, if DTube and by extension Steemit start getting the wrong kind of attention by the right people, it may put the Steem blockchain in a precarious position legally and for future mainstream marketing purposes. I am assuming that the uploader did not have rights to the Jackson video and also the leak has lust been pulled from a Torrent site of which I know nothing about.

I also see a lot of original content here which is fan-bloody-tastic and hope that it continues this way. I just am concerned what happens when the spammers are using DTube to repost YouTube grabs. The blockchain isn't automatically the Wild West (unfortunately because I would be an awesome Cowboy) and there must still be legal ramifications for breaching copyright.

Does anyone have answers?

This short video is the first and last traditional timelapse I have done. It is shot every 5 seconds with about 280 frames in total from my balcony until the battery died. I have to remember to turn the screen preview off and put on the battery grip. When sunsets don't take 3 hours, I will try again from down by the lake on a calm night. This is definitely my work. If I had stolen it from Youtube, I would have grabbed something better ;)

I agree we need to post original content to keep it all clean and above reproach

What a beautiful view! I've seen a couple other posts regarding the copyright issue on DTube. Some calling for some input from Ned and Dan. Hopefully it gets sorted out before Steemit gets bad press due to it.

So it is a problem at least. It is the same issue on Steemit too though as people use photos, videos and what not in their posts consistently. Even with the references I think there are problems as people are getting paid AND the Spammers don't even care about references.

When did DTube come out? I hadn't heard of it until you posted your video and it seems like it'll be a great tool to use in blogging and just media sharing.

a few days ago. I think it has legs to do a good job but there is going to be the copyright and Spam issues.

I also uploaded my first DTube video today. Can't tell you much about the copyright issue since I just discovered it. Well I guess DTube will get better as time goes by, and might become a great alternative to YouTube. So let's wait and see :)

We can discuss the morality of posting and earning steem form copyrighted content but the legality of it is covered under DMCA. You can post whatever and if the owner claim ownership and ask for a takedown, you respond immediately and no further repercussion is taken.

Youtube didn't reach where it stands right now only with original content alone and it greatly leveraged this DMCA protection blanket.

nice post dear....thanks
