Really great article indeed
Video good, my dear

Thank you! I appreciate that @roselover. Hope you have a very good weekend ahead.

I think you made some very good points, but I have one question, and that is, do you think that some are going to take advantage of the non-censorship policy and try to use the platform disguising their free speech with no censorship with hate speech?

You raise a very good question. I think you will probably see some using what others might call so-called "hate speech." I think the best way to curtail any abusive and negative speech is more free speech. We can't go down the road of declaring one type of speech (usually those that go against what the originating party defines as "hate") unlawful. Historically this leads to authoritarian regimes. Think of the Soviet Union and what they did with those who used the "wrong" speech.

I've heard speech that I would consider hateful. I like the way that we can either ignore it or choose to show the illogic that is there.

Thank you very much for your comment, @skiponline. I really appreciate you coming over to visit.

The other thing is, I like to know where people really stand. If they have hate in their heart, better to know it than not. Ignorance is not really bliss. Thanks Terry.

You know, I had not thought of that @evernoticethat, but you raise an exceptionally good point. We want to know where people stand. This way can formulate the arguments and the ideas to help those who (hopefully only temporarily) embrace hateful speech will change. Hey, we all change. It happens best when ideas and thoughts are allowed to be expressed and the addressed in a peaceful, non-violent way.

Thanx for sharing that!

Your points are basically all incorrect:

  1. No censorship (actually Steemit.com has censorship)
  2. Greater diversity of content (actually Youtube has this)
  3. Variety of viewpoints (actually Youtube has this)
  4. Adjust speed of video (actually Youtube has this in my browser)
  5. You get paid (actually Youtube has this and Steem’s reward model is dying (c.f. also))

Thank you for your response, @anonymint. I read your comments and rather lengthy description you left in the other post.Thank you very much for your detail in your thoughts.

Obviously, if you had a great deal of experience not only with Steemit, but with programming in general. good for you and thank you for all the contributions you've made to our community.

On careful reflection I would have to say yes I guess we technically still have censorship here on Steemit. Hey, I censor my own work as does any good writer censor their own work. The real difference in Steemit is that you don't have to worry about offending the current norm of what is culturally acceptable. The attitude is more free-market oriented to allow open discussion even when we disagree. That is healthy.

I have not been banned from YouTube or any other platform ---at least not yet! However, I have friends who have been. I'm concerned for our society and world as more and more of the "currently cool" ideas that disagree with what the "cool kids" are saying are banned. The best way to handle negative or even hate speech is more free speech.

So, yes, I like the approach that Steemit and its supporting platforms tend to follow.

Yes, YouTube has some diversity and I welcome that. However, I think the platform of Steemit is going to be more open to other points of view that are not tolerated now. I submit people who you mentioned, and I know and admire like James Corbett (met once a few years ago), Dan Dicks (friend in Canada) and others who have been banned. Think Luke Rudowsky, Jeff Berwick (both friends of mine), and others who have been banned from various platforms. I welcome the free exchange of ideas. I welcome those I might disagree with from time to time. However, other platforms are not so tolerant. I worked for Skype for a while and loved it. However, I saw & experienced the attitude of socialist-leaning thought that bars current thinking against their dominant view.

Yes, YouTube has the ability to adjust speed. I asked @heimnindanger, the creator of DTube to add this feature and he quickly did on DTube. Great tool for learning.

And the getting paid part is far better on Steemit than YouTube. Many are moving here, as you know. It is just a matter of time before we see even more using the Steemit and other supporting platforms.

I also send you best wishes for healing in dealing with the gut tuberculosis. I can only image what you must be going through. Wishing you rapid healing and good health.

Thank you for sharing your comments. I hope that someday, somewhere, we might be able to have a great discussion over some drinks or dinner to chat more. Keep up the good work you're doing and again, I wish you much healing and health.

I'm programmer of websites how can i earn with steemit and dtube anyone can explain me ?

Get involved and study Steemit. I would recommend the series I have of videos about Steemit Success Series. I have interviewed several very successful people there. Watching these videos and applying those principles will be very good. Let me know how that goes for you.

ok i have 2 questions where can i found this video.Second how the programmer web developer can earn with could you explain me or just say yes or now ? I'm not popular and i don't have my own websites but i can create.

Hi @risentwor. You are going to be the first. Yep! I am going to give you something I put together but haven't shared with the public yet. Here's the link to a special page I just put together packed full of Steemit resources.

As a programmer and web developer you know it takes time and energy to learn how to code and program. Well, Steemit is similar. Here is a resource (no charge for you) to watch several videos on Steemit that can give you what you need:

http://terrybrock.com/steemit-resources/

Please let me know what you think. If you follow the tips on those videos, particularly the interviews with Luke Stokes, Tim Cliff and others in the Steemit Success Series, you'll find out what can work. Please let me know as you go through these. I look forward to hearing from you!

HI Terry, how do I find the videos to view involving Steemit? I would like to take a good look. Thank you.

Hi @carolynseymour. You can find them by going to my stream in Steemit steemit.com/@terrybrock and then scroll through looking for the posts that address areas you want. Pay particular attention to those with "Steemit Success Series" in the titles. That should help. Let me know how it works out for you. Thank you for asking.

HI@ terrybrock, thanks for the DLive. You did a great job explaining. Did you record this whole video on Samsung S note 8 cell phone? Everything including lighting and sound were excellent. Thanks for sharing the information. I think I will try it. Maybe something good will come out of it.

Yes, I used my Note 8 for that exclusively. I did it mainly to show what can be done today. I often use my MacBook Pro, but on this one it was exclusive Samsung Galaxy Note 8. Thank you for your kind words.

Thanks again Terry.

Thank you very much for your comment, @yousuf786. That is a good question. As you might see, it has been asked previously and I answered there.

I think this is important to address because it is a concern for many. I really appreciate you taking time to voice that and share your concern here. Notice what I said (above) and if you want to connect further, let the comments continue! Hope you have a great weekend ahead.
