We wanted to put very recent news to your attention - regarding Boracay, the most popular island in the Philippines is facing a tourist ban that may last for 6 months. President Duterte has discovered several environmental violations and has issued the order to close the island - effective April 26th, 2018.

These were truly shocking news to us as well. But we were there like 2 months ago and we spoke with some locals and they mentioned that that might happen. But we think that it's the right decision if they want to protect and maintain sustainable environment around the island. We saw so many environment abuses and literally sh*t pilling up. The island was going out of control. I hope that the Duterte was not just talking about issuing financial aid and subsidies to local business owners. Because 6 months without any income would be so tragic. But will see and keep informing about how this will progress.
P.S. Wow that is so cool that you are from the Philippines. It's such a beautiful place. Love them so much! If you have seen our pics on Steepshot you can tell. hehe Haven't seen a place so magical. aaaa wanna go back so bad!
