Every time I hear people say upper chest, lower chest. Those aren't the right terms. There are two major chest muscles. Pectoral Major and Pectoral Minor. All the press movements like bench press, inclined/declined bench press mainly target the pectoral major. Pectoral major gives you the thickness of your chest.
But targeting pectoral minor which is located beneath the pectoral major is equally important, all the fly movements like dumbbell flies, cable flies target your pectoral minor which gives the width to your chest.
Try out the variation I did above and feel the burn in your pectoral minor.

It's so important to work the inner, outer, upper, lower and mid peck. You can look at a guy and often times tell what he's working and what he's not...
Yeah I agree.
You don't have to train mid peck really. Focus on upper lower outer and inner.
