Today I hit 75,000 Subscribers on Youtube, which is a good feeling. The thing is, I’m making a @Dtube video today, instead of a Youtube one. The reason I’m posting here, is because I am WAY more excited about Dtube than I am Youtube.
I have been posting on Youtube for years, and I am here to say that it is not all that it’s chalked up to be, it has MANY issues.
The main reason I am making this video is to encourage my fellow Steemians and Dtubers. I recently saw a video by @nathanmars, where he was responding to a video created by @spectrumecons. In this video Spectrumecons was stating that he is no longer making Dtube videos, and listed a few reasons why. Spectrumecons made some good points and I think it is great to shed light on any temporary issues Dtube has.
I wanted to come from a different perspective and talk about a few of the things I love about Dtube, and dislike about Youtube.
One of the things I love about Dtube is the fact that I own my content, unlike on Youtube were google owns it.
Another thing I love about Dtube is that when I post on Dtube, a Steemit post is automatically generated. Youtube doesn’t have this, to me its like having Youtube and “Facebook” combined into one. As a result of this, I believe on Dtube we have a better opportunity to spread our message. One of the key features for me is the RESTEEM, Youtube does not have this. Yes, Youtube has a share button, but it is VERY RARELY used, because it doesn’t have its “Facebook”, or Steemit platform to share too.
Something else I love about Dtube is the fact that I am part of the “company”, when I post I get rewarded with Steem, I am invested. Unlike Youtube, when I receive my revenue that is it, I walk away. If I make $20 on a Youtube video that is it, but If I make a Dtube video and receive 20 Steem, who knows how much that could be worth in the future.
There are many other reasons why I believe Dtube is the place to be, and Youtube is “failing.” I go to the trending page on Youtube now and see almost the whole thing flooded with paid promotional videos. Day by day Youtube gets closer and closer to TV, and day by day Dtube gets better and better. I believe this is an exciting time for DTube, and I am thankful to be here. In my opinion, now is the time to push hard on Dtube and create top quality content. The best way to get ahead is to render more service then you are paid for, and soon you will be paid for more then you do.

It's great to hear your positivity as an experienced youtuber with a decent following. What a lot of people don't seem to comprehend when they are operating here is that everything is new and in progress. We don't have that many users but we are growing. Everything is not perfect but it is under construction.
Dtube and steemit are works in progress and far from perfect but they do have a lot going for them. Being able to earn from the second that you join is massive but like any other media site it won't be much until you build a good following.
That will only happen when you have put in the time, effort and content to gather one. Also the potential going forward is massive. If we can gain mass adoption in the future which we hould considering all the apps under construction and other developments down the line then steem could be worth a lot of money. Every 1 STEEM that you earn now be worth 10 or 100 dollars in years to come. And anybody holding some has a stake and a say in the company.

I think a lot of people, when they are new, want to reap a big harvest even though they only planted a few seeds.
In my opinion if our main focus is to provide value then the “rewards will come in time no matter what. Sometimes it’s not in the form of “money”, maybe it’s experience or skill. But with improved skill comes more opportunities for payouts, or whatever the goal is.

Exactly. You can gain more than money from your time. Even if i never earn a penny from steemit i have still gained a lot in my time on here. The people, skills and experience that i have gained are invaluable. I power up everything that i earn in the belief that we will have a big future on the platform.
My main goals are to grow my account and my following. I enjoy the time i spend on the site so anything after that is just a bonus. I could spend all of my time on facebook or instagram and earn nothing. Here, even if it's small it's still more than i would have otherwise. People expect to have it all straight away but we all know the world doesn't work like that.
I think it's a bit of a crypto mentality since everything went so big so fast and people still think that it is normal not the exception. What we need now is steady sustained growth while the world catches up to us.
You are amazing creator with strong energy and potential to change this reality with your hard earned knowledge. I respect you for that.
Don't ever leave us, we'll make this place big :)
