Just chatting on Discord with @crazybgadventure when my desk shook and I felt a rumble underfoot.
An earthquake in Wales?!?!
I'm in west Wales.
My daughter then started getting messages from friends on Snapchat asking.... what was that?
I tweeted out to 4000 followers.
Confirmations coming in from many places particularly in south wales.
Seems to be centred in south Wales. Took place approximately 3.30pm UTC.
More follows.
Update ... apparently 4.1 in the Bristol Channel.
More follows.

Thank you for this extra information.
I'm in mid Powys and it was like someone slammed my front door, hard. The whole house shook!
We are probably both about the same distance away from the epicentre.
Ouch. A 4.7 is not a shabby quake, that's for sure.
Hope things have settled again and you don't get more of the same.
No damage here, just an interesting experience. I guess the novelty wears off very quickly...
I moved the earth for you.
😊
I was out of the country at the time (in England) but my son was Mountain Biking when the earth shook - I have managed to convince him that the lack of skin on his left knee can genuinely be described as a ‘earthquake wound’ - what more credibility can an 11 year old ask for !
😊
We started getting earthquakes soon after they started fracking for oil and pumping waste water into injection wells.
For people living in places not historically known for having earthquakes, it's quite unsettling to say the least.
We had a 5.8 in 2016 that was centered about 5 miles from my house.
Very unexpected. Took days to clean things up and check building foundations. Nothing scarier than crawling under a house to check foundations while knowing that another earthquake could happen any time.
Earthquakes do occur in Wales - but very rarely, and very low level.
I think I'll pass on the crawling under the house bit....
Ohhh interesting!!! Keep us informed
Lucky it wasn't last Saturday...
Very lucky = D After seeing your post I checked online I was outside in the garden doing the planter and felt nothing!
That's the 3rd mini earthquake that others could feel but I couldn't throughout life so far!
😊
Never heard of earthquakes in Wales... is this a first?
They do happen here but not very often. I can't remember the last one.
