I agree so much with the travel as one of the ways to harness one's mind... I've experienced the benefits before, it's just one of the things I don't often do which I wish to do more.
Resting helps the mind indeed, I do that a lot except on days when there is too much to do.
But the part of selecting what goes into the mind, I find it near impossible to do but I know it depends on my discipline level... I've got to be more disciplined to control my mind about the things it lets in.
