I've used some metrics (which is the fancy way of saying that made up some numbers) relating to:

- Comments - number of (C)
- Comments - replies to replies - depth > 2 (C R)
- Number of people spoken to (PS)
- Comments - length in characters (C L)
- Witness votes (W) (for those proxying witness votes, your total is always 30)
- Upvotes to others (V)
- Upvotes to different authors (U V)
- Self-votes - a (getting smaller each week) minus score for this one sorry! (S V)

I was just watching out and waiting for my personally set target before powering up and that happened last night. I may still have to watch out for my RCs but it is no longer like before that I can not even say a plain "thank you". π

I was out of town this week. Not good internet signal up on the mountain but the view makes it worth it. Anyway I did make sure to do my judging duties for pifc. Got them all done already a day ahead of the deadline. Even managed to judge for the IFC championship. All in all I am surprised I kept up with as much as I did.
Will for sure be setting aside some Steemit time for this week. Need to get back with Dave on setting up my cards. I see you you got white, I think that is a great choice. Look forward to seeing you in the games.

Hey Asher may I ask how the rankings are based? For instance I had 322 comments but still ranked lower than some with less. I just want it for clarification purposes not that am complaining.

Each metric is scored differently. Your comments must be shorter than average, just write a little more and you should fly up :)

I want to set up a new redfish rocket contest, but I don't have any idea how much SP I need to delegate to who. I mean, how far does one get with 100SP?
Why not do a post and ask for input? I have been seeing a lot of people testing that out and comparing notes. Sadly I missed a lot while I was gone so hate to try and speculate.
I have a just in case account it has just under 54SP:
Enough credits for approximately:
70 comments
100+ votes
100+ transfers/powerups
That is what steemD says it can do, 70 comments. Those are I guess total numbers and running all the way down to zero RC and then wait 5 days for recovery, so I think realistically maybe 25 comments a day,(that includes post), 11 votes, and 20 collect any rewards things.
Finally, that was the kind of info I was looking for. So with 100SP one should be able to function close to normal, right?
Yes I would think so. If the person is a normal rate voter, poster, and commenter. The important thing for people to remember when looking at the steemd numbers those are not able to make 70 comments, 100 votes and 100 transactions, those are either or numbers. If a person makes 70 comments then they are not going to be able to vote or claim rewards until their RC recharges.
@macoolette has 100sp of her own and 300 delegated. She should be fine, I would think. Or is it really that bad?

Well if you do run another rockets project I will spread the word as much as possible. I think it is probably wise for all of us small accounts to hold on to a little bit of Steem in case we hit a spot of low credits. I am still trying to wrap my head around how much is needed to function.
I have talked to a few people who had to lease sp so they could continue on.
If I were starting out brand new today I would never make it here.
I honestly believe winning a spot on your rocket team is the only reason I made it this far. I will be sure to follow along and may be able to help support you next picks with some votes or something.
No probs, Asher. I just want to get this new Redfish Rocket thing started, and I'm trying to figure out who to delegate how much to...
One other thing to remember about delegations @simplymike is that the removal of them could have adverse effects, It may have been fixed and may have only affected large delegations. Also it takes 5 days for you to get your delegation back once you end it.
I did a small experiment on my just-in-case account after seeing what happened to @apolymask when a delegation was removed from his account. He crashed all the way to 4% RC, yet still had ample SP.(this happened very early in the HF20 switch).
So for my experiment, I gave my account 10 steem to level up, and removed 10 SP from what I had delegated. (I don't want it to drop below 50SP). The removal of the SP did not seem to have any adverse effects on the RC's, but that could have been because of the leveling up of the steem I gave it. It did however take 5 days before the 10SP showed back up in my primary account.
Wait! That's pretty important info.
But if I delegate for 8 weeks, they should be able to earn enough SP of their own to not get into trouble.

I don't understand what you mean with 'ample SP'.
Earlier today, I changed my delegation to my alt account from 500SP to 250sp, and that had no effect on RC. But the account has 148 on its own.
Isn't that a normal rule?
Also, I read somewhere that delegating has no effect on your own RC.
I'm not sure I fully understand what you mean. Could you maybe try to ecplain it like you were talking go a 5 year old?

@apolymask got one of the big I'm going on vacation delegations from @krnel for 5000SP I believe, (not positive on amount), but after the removal apolymask still had his own 5000SP, so it should not have crashed him down to only 4% remaining RC's So that is what I meant he had "ample" SP left. (A lot).
I did not know about the 5 day's to get your SP back after delegating, so did not know it has been a rule for awhile. (I'm new to giving delegations and taking them back.)
No I don't think you missed the point, and I am leaning to the fact that the crash in RC's that some people experienced was just due to the initial HF20 Effect of Delegations that started just before and ended just after HF20. That was why I did my small experiment. So I think it is all fine now with the giving of and removing of delegations. I hope.
I think I'll have to try it to finf out. We'll see how it goes after the first run.
And about the 5-day return: it used to be 7 days before HF20, so it's a big improvement :0)

I've not been contacted by any existing members who have had trouble. I suspect it is the new recruits who are getting stuck.
There are so many initiatives to delegate to newbies at present, we just need to find out who needs help.

Congrats once again Mr. @janton, why to keep chatting people up even during somewhat difficult times. Actually congratulations to everyone for continuing to show others and each other that yes we can take it and still keep on commenting and posting. It has been a difficult couple of weeks, hopefully things are being adjusted and returning to normal.
For my part only really a little slippage, so it shows that others have really picked up and gotten their RC's under control. Really only two drops from the previous week for me 18 to 32nd place, and comment length 42454 to 41867, all other criterias were higher, so that means everyone is finding that equilibrium and that is good.
Thank you so much for the 1 Steem @abh12345. It is especially appreciated this week as I didn't post for 5 days in a row. Although, fortunately from the Leagues point of view that fell across 2 weeks.
Two more days and I should be back to earning more consistently again.

We're going to try to keep surgeries to an absolute minimum (zero) this month, too. I think if STEEM, et al can keep from mucking things up, I think I might be able to get rolling here.

Anyway, it's a new week. Last time I was second (thanks Hard Fork 20!), this week I'm sixth, and my score changed 62 points. Problem is, others improved their scores. If you're not improving, you're losing (ground).
Meanwhile, first place all but doubled second place. And Sir Janton had a subpar week again. If this were a race track, this is where he would be lapping everyone.
Believe it or not, I'm going to wrap this up. Thank you, Asher, for the leagues. It gives us fortunate few a place to play each week. Thanks, to you all at @curie, for the sponsorships and all you do to keep people excited and wanting to do more on the platform.

Hey, @brittandjosie. You're welcome. Seems like you've been consistently getting up into the Top 10.
It was pretty close from 2-10, less than 11,000 points from top to bottom. That means there's definite parity there, and it continues on down the line this week.
The question is, what to do about a 30,000-point difference between No. 1 and No. 2? :)

Well, so far, @brittandjosie, you're in fine company, because it's been impossible for everyone other than ecoinstant for one week to bridge that gap. It comes down to time and then being able to sustain that amount of work week in and week out. Janton's got it dialed in, and the rest of us just don't.
As you say, though, you do what you can with the time you have and be happy with what that brings. And Top 3 is definitely something to aspire to and worth the effort, in my opinion.
I am going for that this week again. So much to type π
