Thanks for this comment, very complete π
I guess I missed 'PS' for each section of the table, it will be there next time. Both tables could be markup with tags, do you think people would be ok with that? 200 (max) names is a lot of shoutouts!
As far as PS scoring (comments you make to individual accouhts), some have suggested there is too much weight on this metric, but for the reasons you state:
- encouraging friend-circle growth
- mixing the top 10 up
- new challenge
- and additionally, making the EL less of a time/typing competition
I'm reasonably happy with the metric score. Some members placed lower than expected, but the scoring is the same for all, and so it's just a case of adapting.
I'm tempted, as @enjar suggested last week, to alter the weight of one metroc each week, or add a secret metric, to further give a chance to accounts specialising in a particular scoring area, but will likely not do that until the dust has settled.
I think that's everything covered!
Ohw one more thing. I was thinking, let's assume that Bernie Sanders participates in the engagement league. Do you think he would end up pretty high some weeks?
As he sometimes creates like 5 so called funny posts where 200+ comments are below the posts. So he could score a real high PS score and grab the prize π
He's very welcome to join!
I'm not sure, i think comment count / length / short replies to many will leave his score quite short.
I do think he's quite funny sometimes. So perhaps I should invite Bernie myself π¬
I would use the tagging just once in a while. You could also use it in combination with a remark/question to ask if people like it or not and let you know in the comments.
I really like Enjars idea to change the calculation. Although I would suggest to do this one in a few weeks.
I'm still not sure how I score 1 PS point?
Do I need to talk to someone? Or someone to me? Or both?
Or will you just keep that a secret?
