RE: Xmas ad banned for being too political

in #environment6 years ago

So true, it seems since WW 2onwards Christmas has become about buying and spending than it's origin roots, which is too bad as it is part of a culture and it sort of got co-opted by the consumerists agenda. That's sad. Christmas for me is warm food friends and family, the tree, carols, chruchs festooned and at their best with voices singing and just the general good will feeling of people. It doesn't need tons of parcels under the tree to make it good, just an orange a sugar mouse and some loving people makes a good Christmas morning!

Sort:

The eating is age old, at least here. When my sister in law, who is from Florida and soon will move here, had a nap in the Christmas days last year she asked when she came down: "how many meals have you been eating while I slept?"

But underneath that the family hygge is of course what it is about.
