As soon as you get into the routine it is not that bothersome really and you get a lot of quality for no money. Time is the key. Use only a little yeast, and let it rest for a long time in the fridge or another cold place before baking.

When I was ill last year and couldn't do a thing my girls had to eat supermarket bread. They were complaining a lot.

I have a bread making machine, so it's pretty easy to just throw in the ingredients. My daughter likes making bread too. It is about getting into the habit

Sure. The economy of me and my wife has been based on low income, low expenses, but more time. It can be hard to throw in time consuming things in a modern lifestyle.
